Go play MKD if you want corrupted enera Smoke, just saying.

He can be an enera, but it doesn't mean he has to be corrupted.

MKD Smoke is essentially a Netherealm-tainted nanomachine colony; nothing of his Enenra form can be definiively said to be present therein.

Well the concept of him being an enenra wasn't invented until after Deception, but now it could be retroactively speculated that the REASON the Netherealm corrupted him so quickly was because his demon side awakened within and took over the nanites.

I'm laughing right now. You do know Quan Chi has claimed his soul right? Which means he will be corrupted again. He in no means will look like the Smoke I have in my sig. And telling me to go play MKD is pretty childish. I'm making a mere observation of what is possible.

What if enenra Smoke is the surprise returning boss? A trip to the Netherrealm would certainly awaken and corrupt any demon within someone and just like that ending, perhaps he needs to die/shed his human form again to be reborn. And perhaps Quan Chi's hold on his soul his temporary.
