With the exception of Goro, all the returning characters so far are core characters, those who are almost always guaranteed to return. Are they pulling a kind of "safer" Street Fighter 3 where they bring back ALL the core characters rather than a few, with everyone else being new (not that the latter bothers me)?

It's just getting boring that nearly all the returning characters are expected ones, that's all. I'm not just asking for underrated favorites of mine like Li Mei and Nitara, but also for more popular characters like Jade and Kabal, and neither of them are that likely to return.

If Kung Lao wasn't intended to be the January 2 reveal, then I just dread who it might be next. Probably Jax, Liu Kang or Shang Tsung.
