Will mortal kombat x has fighting mechanism too similar with Injustice?
Everyone knows that the last game NRS work before MK X project is Injustice.
Since injustice also enjoy a huge success upon it releases, therefore I am pretty sure that NRS team will absorb most of the injustice game elements on the new MK X, especially the fighting style or character traits that appear in Injustice : god among us!
Herewith I make a little breakdown about the character's trait which I found it is quite similar from the gameplay of MK X so far and injustice :
Kotal Kahn = Bane
Sub zero = killer frost
Rain? = aquaman
Ferra-torr = Solomon Grundy, except Torr is more unique to have his partner ferra accompany him in the fight
Cassie cage = Bat Girl?
What do you guys think?

I don't even know what this post is addressing. Similar characters? Similar fighting styles? Similar gameplay?

I think NRS wants MK to be very different from injustice. Swinging on a tree branch or throwing a corpse is far from similar.
The only thing that I noticeably connected the two with was the jumping attack mechanic. NJPs are still there but JIPs hVe adopted more of a unique injustice approach and are almost always facing the direction on a jump. Even on a crossover. I want to see what evolves and how for gamescom.

They are taking some things from Injustice but nowhere to the level of Injustice. They got difference character models now which was normal. The interactivty of the stages is nowhere near the level of Injustice either.

Seems like the opposite to me.
I hope your right though. Was not amused with injustice gameplay.

And that I'm thankful for. I'm still not really on board with some of MKX's interactables. Leverage and arena weapons are the only things (thus far) that I'm looking forward to.
Character models are definitely looking great this time around. Way excited about that. It should already make for a better story mode.

I don't see that being the case here.
I do not see that here. The character variations change up how to play with a character in any fight. Maybe some of the moves look similar to Injustice but to me Mortal Kombat X looks and plays different. Mortal Kombat X looks much faster then Injustice and more offensively based. That is main thing, If someone has played Mortal Kombat 9 and missed Injustice they can still jump into Mortal Kombat X no problem.

I would not expect Ferra-Torr to play like a fast ninja such Scorpion. That grappler style fits with Ferra-Torr. How would you expect Ferra-Torr to play as?

Similar, but not an exact copy. Plus seeing as how Ferra is incorporated into his combos makes them very different.

Kotal Kahn will be defined by the variation he is using. They are all very different. In Blood Good, you have to use the totems to buff yourself and which totem you use makes a big difference. In War God he has a macuahuitl which give him huge reach and in Sun God he uses his choke to give him buffs. They all play differently. The Bane similarity is inconsequential in my opinion.
We know that NRS introduces the 3 variation gameplay mechanics per character in mk x, but you can see kotal Kahn's basic move is very similar to the one bane has in injustice which focus more on grab and powerful but not so quick attack...
So I am not saying about the new variation system, but the one I emphasizes is the fighting style and gameplay mechanism between those two

Like I said it is inconsequential. I do not think many people would notice or care that much either. I do not think Kotal Kahn will play like Bane either. They share one move but to me they are far apart to make it look similar fighting styles. I do not mind if Mortal Kombat X borrows some elements from Injustice as long as it fits Mortal Kombat.

They honestly share that ONE throw, and I'm fine with that.
You can see this link for more details for Kotal Kahn Fighting Mechanics :
http://testyourmight.com/posts/1441675/
See Page one, look at the details on Sun God variation. you will see the Sun God Choke Special Moves brief explanation which has 3 level boost
Then, please compare it to Bane, here is brief description that i got from angelfire.com for Bane's Character's Trait :
Character Power:
Venom Boost: CP +/-
Bane can dose himself with 1,2, or 3 levels of Venom, (even while attacking) increasing his overall damage per dose and adding armor to his special attacks. When the buff wears off Bane will become weakened. While will inflict less damage, take more damage, and will move at a slower speed. This weakness is intensified based on the amount of Venom used.
So, please share your thoughts guy...

To answer your question elson.
Yes. But you already see that.
This is what the developers do.
They take an an existing game, and add onto it with some little revamp.
Just like how Injustice was updated from Mortal Kombat [2011].
Hell, even Mortal Kombat [2011] is an update of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe.
This was really to be expected, and here we are, Mortal Kombat X is an updated engine of Injustice.
- Environmental interactions are back. *sigh*
- And the characters, UNFORTUNATELY, will not be balanced in terms of movement. And this alone is worrying me, when they could have made Kotal Kahn have the same speed as the rest of the characters, like I dunno Doomsday in Injustice?!
*sigh again*
And yes, you may see some familiar attacks from Injustice characters.
But...but...the good news out of all of this, controller wise, thank god it's NOT like Injustice.

Thanks for your breakdowns yesterday.
We already saw the new Kano's gameplay video, wouldn't you guys see his commando variation fighting styles looked like the one Cyborg or Lex Luthor has in Injustice?
Since there is so many MK X character's fighting styles adopted from Injustice (although not 100%, but i am sure that they will absorb some of the elements from Injustice), for that reason, logically i think that we can predict some new character that hasn't be revealed by NRS will have some of the character model based on injustice's characters, for example :
Maybe we will see :
A new character that focus on his/her agility like the Flash
A new Gadget-Based Character
A new Green-arrow liked Character
A new Flying Type Character like Hawk Girl
A new Magician or sorcerer type character like Zattana
Returing Character that possess telekinetic abiltity like Martian Manhunter (Possibly Ermac or Kenshi?)
Returning Character that possess water element power like Aquaman (Possibly Rain?)
Please share your thoughts guys
