Mk has always been noticed for good or worse. Mk is the reason the esrb ratings exist lol. They thought mk1 shit was the apocalypse 20 years ago. Oh the children! It's a niche game, it's grindhouse cheese and that's what makes it great.
It's not for everyone, it's not going to sell 15 million copies and make a billion dollars like cod or gta5. You're not going to get a massive following on twitch or youtube unless you're a good tourney or tutorial person. the millions of followers on these peoples sites watch those cod/minecraft videos. They probably put out all kinds of content but just keep hashing out the same game because that's what makes them money. Most mk players who still play after 3 months do it for the drugs.

Fighting games typically have a skill ceiling that a lot of people find difficult to surpass in order to get the most out of the game, so they'll never be as popular as other genres.
Even Smash Bros. and many anime games have this problem as just arena fighters. Those primarily attracts players for novelty value since the skill ceiling is still too high in multiplayer.
Also, YouTube players are shit. Why would I give a damn about what those guys have to say?

Wait, so you're hoping MK can compete with COD and Minecraft? What reality are you living in, and why would you want that or think that is possible.
There are plenty of fighting game enthusiast youtubers who play MK. But nothing is going to top COD and Minecraft the two biggest mostly accepted by the mainstream games out there right now.

Someone hasn't been to Evo. It grows every year it used to be free and now you have to pay if you want to watch the finals in person and it sells out very quickly. Fighting games have a huge following and new titles only add to the numbers.

Don't know what those are, they sound like those free computer games you hear about on t.v commercials though.

You're basing your idea of whether MK is "noticed" by it's exposure on YouTube?
Mortal Kombat has been a household term since before the consumer internet kicked off in the mid 1990's. It's been spoofed, parodied, referenced, paid homage to, and featured in countless examples of pop culture for the past 20 years. MK9 was one of the most successful relaunches of a damaged franchise in recent history.
MK is noticed. You're just looking in the wrong place.

Minecraft and CoD = big mainstream games = big mainstream audiences = money.

I do know these two people I used to be a COD and Minecraft fanboy but I just got bored of those games and went back to MK the game that I first played.
