Will MK finally get noticed after MKX?

If you guys think about it, the Youtube gaming community is freaking broken, MK is no where near a result, its just filled with Minecraft and Call of Duty those games are overrated af! Small gaming channels just do Minecraft and Call of Duty because they expect to blow up on Youtube, when the truth is... they aren't the first results you get when you search Call of Duty is either Ali-A's videos or Syndicate's videos and I don't like them both. I don't like Ali-A because he does the same videos every time, 77 kills 4 deaths every time in Call of Duty. WE GET IT YOU'RE GOOD AT CALL OF DUTY. And his second channel "More Ali-A" is nothing but Minecraft PLAY SOMETHING ELSE! So on to the Syndicate Project when you go to his channel all there is, is Minecraft and it's really freaking annoying and he also said he never heard of Mortal Kombat which pissed me the fuck off. And it's probably because all he is doing is sitting on his a** playing Call of Duty and Minecraft. And to be honest I was a Call of Duty and Minecraft channel but I realized I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere thats why I changed to be an MKX youtuber because I wanted to do something different and I actually turned out to go from 130 SUBS to 4,000+ and I am completely honored to have that many. Ik it's small but it's good enough for me. I feel like MK is underrated, those big Youtube Gaming Channels should play MKX when it is out and I am expecting it. Mortal Kombat deserves to be beat out Call of Duty and deserves to be "The Game of the Century" I think it's time for MK to get noticed.

If you guys are fans of SSSniperwolf then keep spamming her twitter asking if she'll play MKX because I keep asking her for her "Ask Wolf" episodes and its been 20 episodes and I still haven't got an answer :) so can you guys just go to her twitter and just keep asking her because thats just nor fair to me. lol I also understand it's what they like and stuff and they can do whatever they want and stuff, but I just think it's repetitive they should at least have something different.

Personally I think you should stop worrying about what other people like and how many youtube hits MK has compared to other franchises.There's a huge fan base for MK and the new game is most likely going to be a smashing success. It's not a contest, just relax and enjoy the ride.

Fighting games will never be as popular as CoD or Minecraft. Those games are braindead and very easy to get into. MK is a lot easier than most fighting games, but you still have to learn it. Some people just don't have the patience to bother with it.

MK will be fine with how it is. It has a considerable fanbase and has the casual appeal with Fatalities. It'll never be CoD big, but I'm glad. They can keep the 12 year olds.

The more casuals MK attracts, the more bad news for diehard fans, because $ is all WB cares about. Not that I blame them, just stating a fact.

This series is just aging older now like red wine like a Street Fighter, but to some of the kids out there, MKX is like MK2 in a way. Kids, probably dont give a rats ass for the other games before the Playstation 3 days and before MK9.
MKX is compeeting for the buyers of PS4 and XboxOne. It's a chance to take like anything. If the game is good, bloody, contraversial, people will talk and party like its 1999. If it's anything less, people will buy it and forget about it a month later when something else with hype comes out.

Young kids care about getting "cut" in line, when in fact you're all going to the same place.

Place your focus on something good in your life, rather than worrying about how many people watch Mortal Kombat on youtube.

For in fact, when you die, it won't matter how many youtube hits you had, but how you treat your fellow men with love and mercy.

Man, it becomes painfully obvious that there is huge generation gap on this site. The OP isn't even old enough to play MK (15). We are on the 10th installment of MK...the game has sold millions of copies worldwide. It's been noticed. Will it hit COD/Minecraft sales? Nope. The fighting game community is a pretty small part of the gaming community.

So you're saying you want YouTube personalities who are popular to play MK just because they have high subscription numbers? No thanks. Play the game because you love it. Keep working on your own channel for MK, have fun and make it interesting...people will check it out if it's decent. Good luck!

But they are overshadowed in popularity and sales when looking at trending games like CoD or Minecraft. I hate to say it but when people think of gaming, those 2 franchises come to mind over MK or SF.

The pointless obsession with trying to make your already popular franchise Call Of Duty/Minecraft popular is one of the most stupid things in the triple AAA games industry. It seems a success is not enough nowadays. This all or nothing mentality.

MK is noticed. It is not "noticed" Call of Duty level but why does it need to? MKX will probably be the best selling game in the franchise.

There are a few noteworthy YouTubers playing fighting games. Guys like CrossCounter and MaximilianDood do fighting games almost exclusively and are extremely entertaining.

I myself play a fair amount of Mortal Kombat, Injustice, and a bit of Killer Instinct on my YouTube channel GamerMeister and will be playing TONS of MKX there. Both the entire Story Mode and lots of Online Ranked will pretty much take my channel over for a long time once the game releases.

The discussion of MK and fighting games in the YouTube gaming community is a very worthwhile one. YouTube is big platform for gamers AND publishers. I understand a lot of the users here aren't aware or aren't interested in YouTube gaming, and that's totally cool, but it is an important and exciting new medium for gaming. I too hope to see MKX popping up on a few more channels in the future. However it will never be close to the levels of Call of Duty or Minecraft or even League of Legends. And that's also totally cool. Videogames are rad! Play what ya like!

Good topic, BruskPoet! The topic is a bit misleading though.

What does that have to do with anything I said? That doesn't abolish the fact that MK and SF are very popular. Why did you even bring those games up?? I never said MK and SF were the most popular. But MK and SF are easily in the top 25 most popular video games franchises.
MK is plenty popular, always has been...

Get noticed..?? minecraft and call of duty are both very different from MK. If mk hadn't been noticed, there would have never been an MKX, let alone an MK 9. Hell, MK vs DC universe actually caused a bit of an upset amongst the MK fanbase, and yet they still managed to be picked up by Warner Brothers and release MK9...so I don't think you understand exactly how popular MK has been.

and as far as minecraft and call of duty, when you have a game that stimulates your thinking or a first person shooter that gets a yearly release, offcourse you are going to get channels dedicated to those things.

but, just do a search for MK, and you'll find youtube is littered with videos of MK...so i think you are looking at this from the wrong angle.

I call BS. I started on MK when I was 6 and I am willing to bet many of the other old school people in here started as kids, too. If that weren't the case Defenders of the Realm would never have existed. Kids loved MK back in the 90's. tongue
