From the boots, I have a feeling that Nightwolf, Liu Kang, and Kitana might not be far behind. I can imagine Quan Chi sending these three important characters from the last game to corner and KILL Raiden and his allies without mercy in some point of the game. Imagine if your best friends got killed and some virus just made them into red-eyed scary AND agile zombies who know your every move and heartbeat that cannot be reasoned with, chasing you down in a dark hellish graveyard with no one to assist you? Raiden needs to feel the DARKNESS of his consequences more personally I think in this scenario.

These Payless ShoeSource boots are annoying.

If some of them belong to new karakters, then we have no clue about anything.

These flop sandals could belong to absolutely any karakter.... that we don't even know exist, yet.

They could belong to Kassie's daughter, Sonya's granddaughter.

Where are Tanya's yellow boots? I can't see anything. These blurry images are a huge blur.

Quan Chi's reveal in the trailer, along with the revelation that he is the first boot in the boot teaser pic from Boon, has gotten me thinking. First thing I noticed was how sinister and demonic Quan Chi is now; and then I noticed that he does not appear to have Shinnok's amulet in his possession. Why would that be? The conclusion I come to is that he does not have it because it is now in Shinnok's possession and Shinnok IS in this game. That brings us back to the boot picture.



The boot on the far right screams Shinnok to me. The shin guards, the pattern on them, what appears to be the bottom of a bone-tipped staff to the right...

If that is indeed Shinnok on the far right...what does this tell us about this teaser pic as a whole?

This is where I am going to go out on a limb a little bit further so bear with me.

I have a hunch that Quan Chi being on one end and Shinnok being on the other end means that every character in this teaser image is in fact a "villain", and are direct allies with Shinnok & Quan Chi.

Ed told us that this is a mix of returning and new characters. So if I had to hazard a guess as to who the other 4 characters are I would say that the ninja/monk-looking foot two spots over to the right from Quan Chi is Liu Kang, the one right after Liu is Tanya and the other two are brand new characters who are somehow associated with the Netherrealm.

I think that after all 6 are revealed these boot shots are going to turn out to actually all be from one render featuing all 6 characters.

It's a possibility indeed. But I don't see Tanya in any of those boots, unless she got seriously revamped.

Well the whole theory doesn't hinge on her, lol. That could be a new character, too but I'm pretty sure the monk looking foot is Liu Kang and that the one on the far right is Shinnok. The others are up in the air but we know at least one of them is a new character because Boon said the boot pic is a mix of returning and new.

The last boot seems to be Shinnok to me as well. As for the rest, we'll see.

Liu Kang did not end up in the Netherrealm. In meaning, Quan Chi doesn't have control of Liu Kang.

So I don't think any one of the 5 boots left is Kang at all. I'm leaning towards two more for the bad side, one being Shinnok and 3 for the good side, one being Johnny Cage. That said, one new bad guy and two new good guys.

Just my speculation on the initial boot hint. The Liu Kang part is true.

Do you think it is possible that since he tweeted it's a "MIxture" of new and returning characters that he MEANT to capitalize the M and I out of the 6 letter word "mixture" meaning the first and second are returning (older therefore larger letters) and the other 4 are new characters? I mean boon has always been a tease; and a calculated one at that! Let me know thoughts!!!

I think the 6th one is Bo Rai Cho. mostly cause i think thats a cane in the background of the foot. but i'm not sure.

In MK9 they had plans to reveal all but 4 characters before the audio leak.

I believe they will do the same with MKX

Boot 6 looks too slim to be Bo's, plus he had a staff in the past and not a cane.
