Corrected: I think if a kid dies doing a MK move, don't blame MK. Blame the stupid kid, he should know better.
Sorry, I'm a grammar freak.

It's not so much the child, but parents. Parents and others look for a scape-goat, instead of actually learning how to parent correctly. For instance, it's not that the child has a bodily kinesthetic intelligence, he has ADHD; thus masking the real problem with sugar coated bullshit. -_- People as a whole are often stupid, but not so much individuals. Though, people haven't blamed MK, in particular, for a while. Meh.
I look forward to grammar freak correcting my post, then not give any insight to the matter.

'Crimerates are rising in this country, Mister Stephenson, and why do you think that is?'
'Couldn't have anything to do with the terrible exuse for parenting that goes in this country, could it?'
-- Rocking Roll (great movie, if you can find it)
Anyway, it really basically is that parents need something to blame rather than their own falability or random chance. It's not always MK, or even always videogames. It's clothes, movies, music, books, TV.
Also, I'll edit this post or reply when I find the image, but somebody used photoshop to superimpose a gaming magazine's videogame timeline with an official graph of crimerates in this country. Crime rose at the release of the playstation (probably thefts of the playstation, if related at all) but dropped with the release of Mortal Kombat, Doom, and GTA.
