Who has the best/worst set of fatalities in this game?

Corrupted Shinnok and DLC(once it's released,this includes Klassic Fatalities) also counts.
I think Reptile and Jason have the worst fatalities. Some dishonorable mentions: Jacqui(average,but nothing impressive,and the 1st one is too short,could have been a brutality instead), Erron Black(1st's not bad,although could have been better and more blood would have been nice,blood with sand,something like that,and they were lazy when coming up with this 2nd fatality),Kitana(better than MK9,but still nothing special. why is it so hard to come up with good fatalities for Kitana,anyways? outside of the Klassic ones,that is)

As for who has the best fatalities: A tie between Kung Lao and Mileena,with Ermac very close to them. Some other honorable mentions include Quan Chi(admittedly,his 2nd isn't as good as his 1st,but it's still good), Jax (again,2nd isn't as good as the 1st,but it's still quite brutal to watch,I just wish Jax would have used the ribs to snap the opponent's neck) Kenshi (both are great,honestly,but the 1st one is way too similar to Cyrax's MK3 helicopter fatality and the 2nd,although also quite brutal to watch,does feel a little goofy when you see how long the opponent's back stretches out) and Liu Kang(1st one is great,if a little basic by this game's standards,and 2nd is decent,although not as memorable as the 1st one)

The rest either have 2 decent fatalities(like Ferra/Torr) or 1 really good fatality,and 1 average fatality(like Takeda,Scorpion and Sub-Zero's 1st are better than their 2nds,or Sonya's 2nd is much better than her 1st)

So post below,who do you think has the best/worst set of fatalities in this game?

I hate that they retconned her powers. I mean the Kiss Of Death wasn't the best fatality, but i'd take anything that doesn't involve the drone, it's like she can't do anything on her own now. She also had the worst set of fatalities in MK9, they weren't dramatic enough for the camera angles, those look much better as brutalities now.

Now Reptile's first fatality instead of him ripping the head in clean halves, he could of crushed it like a watermelon. His second fatality was nice, but it looked like the opponent was sinking instead of melting in the acid. And Sonya's fatalities, that flying thing was creative, but it shouldn't have been in both her fatalities. Her second fatality should of been she has her classic kiss of death fatality

Reptile being mentioned doesn't surprise me at all,sadly,mah boi got really krappy fatalities this time. really hoping he gets 1 Klassic fatality to make up for the lackluster fatalities he got(his MK4 face chew off or his MKDA fatality,hopefully)
I'm surprised so many people mention Sonya. I thought you guys liked her 2nd(well at least I did) but I think anyone can agree the 1st fatality was crap. seriously,what they were thinking? why use the smoke grenade? I don't get it.

The first one is just bland, but the 2nd one would be good without the drone, i would alter the first part of the fatality, having Sonya shooting the opponent's head with a machine gun.

well,everyone has their own opinion. I like the 2nd one as it is.
On a sidenote,Sub-Zero's 2nd was a good concept,but the lack of reaction by the opponent when they get initially stabbed + the absolute lack of blood minus an eyeball really kills that fatality. Raiden's 2nd suffers from the same issue,but at least there,the fatality is still brutal enough to be at least somewhat memorable,even if a little underwhelming.
I don't hate Scorpion's 2nd,but the one thing that kills it is the VERY stiff animation. the trailer version was 10000 times better. Had that been fixed,I honestly would have considered Scorpion among the characters with the best set of fatalities.

Only Liu Kang and Kotal Kahn disturbs me

Liu Kang fatalities dont fit him. Tongue Rip? Fire Kick? no dragon, no fire. No personality

Kotal Kahn first is all right, but a Kano rip off except for the blood drink. And the second one, that hug is lame. He could use his Sun Powers just like Nightwolf, something mystic.

he rips their throat,not their tongue. and the second does have something to do with him: it's a flying kick,except he uses both legs instead of one leg. you are right about KK's 1st being a Kano ripoff,though. And(much like Scorp's 2nd) it also has stiff animation. it looks robotic,the way the opponent is shouting in pain,it's like "oh look,i'm in pain!" yeah,no shit you are in pain,but you don't have to react like a dumbass standing still,try to stop it or something(or,what they should have done,make it quicker,like Kano's 1st,where he cuts the opponent's intestines out. that worked,so why not do it here? obviously,not an exact duplicate,but at least something quicker)

Kung Lao has been popping up quite a lot.
have to say,IMO,they really nailed it with Lao this time. I mean,his fatalities in 9 were also awesome,but here it's even better.

Reptile feels like a tacky add-on. His Fatalities suck ass. His Variations are near pointless considering that you can't activate them without being hit, and he's the same as MK9 with a couple of different combos. There's plenty of the same combos from MK9 for him.

I like Kenshi's Fatalities. They're great!

Best: Jax: I don't condone smoking, but they're both cruel even if old Jax is kind of PTSD for a Fatality.
Worst: Kung Jin: He kind of does the same thing in both his Fatalities.

Best:
-Sub-Zero - The spine breaker is so-so, but the bed of spikes more than makes up for it.
-Ermac - makes something interesting out of the old decapitation trope, plus first time I felt legit queasiness over a Fatality.
-Ferra/Torr - simply because I love the teamwork aspect.

Worst:
-Sonya - Gotta admire her consistency in the "Worst Fatalities" department game after game after game.
-Cassie - I appreciate that NRS is acknowledging the sign of the times with social media and whatnot, but her "bad-ass" personality is so forced it's not even funny.
-Erron Black - Only in MK can guns seem so remarkably mundane in a Fatality, and the "sand bomb" is one of the worst in the game overall. It makes zero sense and comes off to me instead as some kind of tribute to Days of Our Lives.

That's why the first one sucks so much. There's no screaming. No pain.

It's so perfunctory. So 'meh'. As a Sonya fan, I can't describe how much I hate it.


The second is... alright. It suffers the usual 'why do they maim the corpse AFTER it's dead' thing... Would've been better to mutilate the face while they were still alive, screaming... THEN pop off the skull.


Still, neither are really up to scratch. As a Sonya fan, she probably does have among the least exciting, with Erron, Jacqui etc.

I don't see why people complain about Kitana's - they're simple, but they're effective, and have a follow through from her classic fan related ones.



Overall, what would really improve the shite ones is some damn variety. Some magic, some POWERS... and some bones.


Something I've missed since the 2D era was the skeletal remains that so many fatalities left behind. We get some of those in brutalities, which is awesome, but imagine how sweet they'd be as proper fatalities.....

Like a Sonya kiss of death where the flesh is burnt away and then the skeleton collapses, charred organs scattering on the ground....
