To start I'm thinking Netherrealm, but I'm pretty sure you can change factions so I'll probably bounce around.

Man, like half the people online are gonna be Lin Kuei. I just know it.

Forgive me this is somewhat off topic, but what exactly is this whole faction thingy and how does it work. I saw the trailer but I still don't quite understand what it is.

With that said, even without my understanding of the faction game, I am choosing White Lotus, because my favorite kharacter is their leader and even in real life shaolin monks are the shit.

I would be supporting the Lin Kuei even if there wouldn't be a factions war out there!

I will serve my Prince of the Netherrealm, Quan Chi, in the Brotherhood of Shadows.

From what I understand of it is you pick a faction at the start of the game then everything you do; challenge towers, story mode, online matches give you points which go to a central tally for your chosen faction then at the end of the week a winning faction is announced! There is additional things like factions challenges, invasions etc etc which I don't know much about but it looks like fun and gives you some sort of ownership and a common goal to work together to be the best faction for the week!

I did read that you can change factions but I think he said something like you would want to consider your decision to change carefully possibly meaning that you may lose points or levels or something if you chop and change to much.

Also you can pick any character so say if you pick special forces as your faction you could still use quan chi, reptile etc you are not locked into playing as characters from that faction

While it does give the player more freedom, I kinda feel like being able to play characters of a different faction in the name of another kind of defeats the purpose.

My favorite character created the White Lotus.

Lin Kuei, as it has more characters that resonate with me than the other factions.

White Lotus and Brotherhood of the Shadow weren't far behind, though.

I hate to sound cliche, but i'm going with Lin Kuei.

The main reason is Sub Zero's my favorite and I like the background.

Might alternate between that and White Lotus every now and then though. White Lotus' background is sweet

Collectively speaking though, Special Forces. But then I still think we're jumping to conclusions by assuming the characters will be split into factions as opposed to players simply creating their teams.

Brotherhood only if Shinnok is in, if not, Black Dragon.

It's beyond me how people still don't understand that the Factions have ZERO to do with playable characters.

You can pick Special Forces, that doesn't mean you have to pick Sonya, Jax and Cassie every single fight you enter or for every challenge you complete. You can choose anyone else, even the Special Forces main antagonist Kano and still earn points for your chosen faction.
