I think a lot of people are disappointed with the way MKX is turning out, despite the fact it hasn't been released yet.

So what were you guys thinking MKX was going to be like? I know that when I saw the first official gameplay trailer with Kotal, D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr alongside Sub-Zero and Scorpion, I expected this to really be the next generation of Mortal Kombat: plenty of gore, dozens of new characters to replace the ones lost in MK9. I half expected everything from MK9 to be taken to the next level -- finishing moves, stage fatalities etc.

Alas, I should have known that Boon and team couldn't stand by their choice to kill off (and keep dead) Jax, Kung Lao, Kitana, Liu Kang etc. despite having their descendants in the game.

I preordered the game today and I am excited as fuck. I guess I just thought it would be... different. Your thoughts?

I was expecting to play with Scorpion in a next generation Mortal Kombat game.
Seems to have turned out just fine.

People are disappointed with the MKX roster?

I'm a Reptile fan I don't know what that's like tongue tongue tongue

Even in the game he wasn't a part of he was still the host for the big bad.

I again I'm not sure what this "disappointment" stuff is.

I very much like what I have seen thus far, as the game being the first step in a new generation of Mortal Kombat. the character variations were a simple, but very good idea, the fatalities are some of the best ever, the revamped brutalities are cool, too. And I like all the new characters, too.

But personally, I do kind of wish the MK4 part would have been a standalone game, and then MK11 be the new generation. It might be just me, but literally Hell invading earth and a battle of the gods, and all that stuff sounds like it could have been it's own game alone.

I also do think they needed more stages, personally. And there were a couple roster spots that I think, had that split happened, could have seen some vets take a break on the bench (Sonya, Kung Lao, etc.) Otherwise, I think it's a darn good game.
