Yes, I am aware of that but actually the correct name of the sport is football. English people invented the sport and called it football. In Spanish it is called "futbal". In French it is called "le foot". In German it is called "fussball". See a recurring pattern there?

Totally off topic, but it is kinda funny. Doesn't make any sense that a sport (in the US) called football almost has nothing to do with kicking, except for field goals and PAT's here and there.

I seriously doubt it will flop. MK9 was a huge success for the series, considering many fatalities were redundant. MKX has a lot of things going for it. I think this game is where MK has always strived to be. the fatalities look insane. The gore factor is over the top. We finally get to see the insides with better details.
I love the direction that they are taking the game...the darker, more sinister tone. I actually hope that they make this game into a horror/fighting game, which is what I have always felt MK should be.

I think it will not only be successful, but outsell mk9.

The whole franchise flopped after MK3. They've dealt with and recovered from flops before, they'll be fine.

I don't know what will happen if it flops but I wont think anything less of NRS or the MK franchise. I am buying a copy on day 1 and I will continue to buy any and all MK games released.

Germany winning the WC was a highlight of the year for me so far. I never freaked out over a football match like I did during that 7-1 stomping of Brazil.
