For me, I think it's a combo between not liking much of what I've seen so far, the pacing, and seeing the same faces over and over (yes, even if they're new characters, seeing them all the time, especially in the same stages, gets boring).

At around this time in 2010? I was following every little update. Now? I'm not nearly as hype.

Don't care much about the gameplay, but the character revelations have been unnecessarily drawn out and the confirmed selections are so effing dull as dishwater.

The rumored addition of Jax only proves my point.

Activity on MKO isn't a good metric, though. The MK fandom is (thankfully) pretty decentralized. Basically we make up a minority of a minority of a minority.

Characters, storyline, visuals, etc. I don't own a gaming system so gameplay is meaningless to me.

Like someone else said, some gameplay videos (demonstrating high level play) would be a welcome addition to the slow stream of info.

In these videos, why not tease characters' second fatality? For the love of god though, do not reveal them in full.
