What about DLC story expansions? (side stories/ missions)

posted01/31/2015 10:51 PM (UTC)by0RI0NI know that this is a long shot. We are probably only getting a few DLC characters and maybe some alt costumes as well. But what would u guys think about story expansions, and/or side missions? I fully expect the MKX story mode to be short. MK9, Injustice, and MKvsDC all had rather short story modes. I LOVED them, but they were just too short for me.
Here are some ideas.
Kenshi's Quest:
-In the comics, Kenshi leaves Takeda with Scorpion and goes on a solo mission to find Daegon. How kool would it be to play out this mission in the game? Cut a bloody path through some generic Red Dragon goons. Then have a boss fight with Daegon. Maybe even have some other NPC fights in there, such as Mavado.
The battle for Ermac:
-Its being heavily hinted at that Shao Kahn is tethered to Ermac. What if we could download a side story, that was a battle that takes place inside the astral plane of Ermac's mind?! Jerrod vs Shao Kahn, Good Ermac vs Evil Ermac. Then a new, free Ermac emerges.
Any other ideas?

The only way I'd be okay with any DLC story is if it was specifically for certain DLC characters, like a side quest that branches off of the main story but is separate.

I could live with this as well, but I hope NRS wouldn't make us buy the character and then buy their story separate. For example if Smoke was DLC, and I purchase him, I think his story should come with him.

Yeah, that is what I meant. DLC characters could come with their own side story. Selling the story separately would be BS.

Yeah that would definitely piss people off. The sad thing is, I wouldn't even be surprised if something like that eventually happened. I don't think NRS would do such a thing, but I could see Capcom doing something like that lol

Right. That's exactly what I meant by side-story. Like if NightWolf is not in the game at all, but they make him DLC down the road, I'd like to know where he was during the events of MKX. I think this would be fun

I agree with this 100%. Wouldn't mind that at all.

Capcom has done this crap before. Like Asura's Wrath if you wanted to really finish the game and see the true ending you had to buy the DLC. SMH

Yeah, that was awful. However, I wouldn't mind if DLC characters came with an additional story chapter to connect them to the main storyline.

Yes that I don't mind at all. Like if it was added and it was during the middle of the story then that's cool.
