It's doubtful. We'll probably be seeing various classic characters, but who knows?

Well, besides the obvious Sub-Zero and Scorpion, I have a feeling that Boon is bringing in characters from past games that never got a chance to show what they can contribute are coming back. Well, actually, that's what I hope more than I what I think Boon is doing.

I do fear that bland characters that were favorite back then, and not so much now to the true fans, are coming back to bring those who only liked the old system games to bring those people back in too.

Hopefully it's the former.

I have confidence in Boon this time around. Every time theres a good formula, the follow up is always the best. MKDA went a direction, and MKD was amazing. MK1 was MK1, and MK2 was well... MK2. enough said.

After mkvsdc hit some thigns right, i feel this game is gonna be amazing.

Hoping for Sektor Havik and Hotaru.

I am hoping for the complete MK2 cast minus Jax. Do away with the stupid robots, and develop underrated characters like Kai, Hotaru, and Reiko. Add in a couple of really thought out newbies and for me, we have a fuckin' roster.

I say all MK1 & MK2 characters (14), a couple from MK3 (5) and a few (2-3) from the more recent games + add a few new guys.

Who from MK3 would you add?

As long as it has Noob Saibot and zero DC characters, I'm all for it. But I do like the potential for underrated characters like Reiko and Hotaru. Either way, I think it'll be a great cast.

I'm really hoping this means no Jax. Maybe they finally perked ears and realized he wasn't a fan fave to anybody but the staff. :)

Knowing how the fanbase by and large does love its secondary ninjas - in moderate amounts - I'm going to take that as a sign that someone amongst the group of Noob Saibot, Reptile, Ermac or Smoke will be present.

Personally hoping for Havik and Hotaru to come back for another round.

I didn't know many people want both Havik and Hotaru back. I don't mind Havik, but not so much on Hotaru.

I also hope they get rid of Jax. I also want Liu Kang gone too.

Hotaru is a great character. He's got a really awesome look, he's got good combos to break out, he's just an awesome character.

But I will agree with what you want to see not return. They've done their part in the game, especially Liu.

Hmmm...I guess I never really got him or played him as much. Plus there are some other new guys I would rather see before Hotaru.

I just hope that booN doll put Noob in or I'll rip his eyebrows

Anyway, I want MK2 Jax to be in the game; so NO robotic arms!

As long as there's less than 5 Ninjas I'll be happy...preferably 3...Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Kitana.

i think most of the iconic and deep story lined characters will return. except for a few that deserve to go like zombie kang for instance. it will be interesting to see which ones they use but it is for sure we will have scorpion,sub-zero,sonya,raiden and kitana but reptile,baraka,mileena,sektor,noob,quan chi,jax and so on.... those are well known favorites and icons of the franchise. i bet most if not the whole cast from MK vs DC will be in.

If I were to take a stab at which characters, I'd guess:

Sub Zero
Scorpion
Sonya
Kitana

Well, those we already know to some extent.

Rayden

Something tells me that he's almost on the level of Scorpion and Sub Zero as being "automatic" at this point.

Kung Lao
Noob (possibly back to being a hidden character?)
Kenshi

Though these are just flat out guesses, I think that Kung Lao has become sort of a staple character for them, and I also get the feeling that they really like Kenshi as well.

After those characters, I'd say all bets are off... Granted, that's 8 characters already, so who knows, maybe that's the long and short of it. Maybe everyone else would be new. I somehow doubt it though. So I'll throw a few more off the wall suggestions out there:

Quan Chi (I just don't think we've seen the last of him. He seems to be the sort of staple "pot stirer" character)

Kabal (I know he got his second chance in MK:D, but he's a perennial favorite of a lot of MK fans)

Mileena (It's not inconceivable to think that they liked her reboot so much that they'd want to bring her back once more)

Anyways, those are my picks if we're talking guesses on who we think the MK team would include. Hopefully we'll see soon enough!

My guess is Mortal Kombat: All Stars! Most if not all the MK1+2 rosters. Couple from MK 3 and 4.

This is the "safe" game after the clusterfuck and the contraversy.

Everything is happening fast these days. Getting close to announcement maybe?

ahh when can they!? cant wait to hear some proper news. Anyway are they still wiping the slate clean or having a cast we mostly know? still not sure what I would prefer, maybe 10-15 MK returning, the rest new. I just feel if they have way too many new characters it may feel a little strange, but could be wrong.

Is it just me, or is Ed not his usual excited self about this game?

I hope Warner Bros. isn't going to screw this game up, now that they are in charge...
