Wii gamers don't need Mortal Kombat. You guys have your bobble-head armies to play tennis with. What more could you possibly want out of a system?

Just remember that 82% of the people that purchased Wiis are Mormon soccer moms who think it's a cute and "exercise-y" toy who bought one for kids who don't know the difference between Metal Gear Solid and a colostomy bag. Sure, the Wii sells like wildfire, but I submit that it does not sell itself to *gamers* by and large.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather play Uncharted or Bioshock than sit around making masturbatory gestures at my television hoping my bobble-head will nail a home run. Maybe I'm just stupid or something. Probably not, though. If I ever get a craving for a Wii title I'll just emulate it through my PSP. /snicker

Actually...I hear alot of stories from my classmates. What happens is there is a huge hype about the Wii....meaning its got a good reputation.

So once a Wii is bought....., it is played for a little while....then put in a closet....never to be played again.....except on the rare occasion some good game comes out for it.

I think everybody in the Western Hemisphere wants a Wii....that doesn't make them gamers.

Gullible gamers....perhaps. Edit: My point was.....this is how the Wii sales will overtake PS3 and X-box 360 sales. Everybody wants one.

*Co-signs*

My wife and kids want the Wii. "Daddy's games" come on the Ps3 and 360. I'm not even being funny....although, I am laughing. lol

ImO, the Wii is where you bundle up, and send all these Mk "Mini Games". Not saying that the Wii should "never see a mature title"....but they set the tone already. So, what can you do but go with what works?

I wanna play Mario Galaxy on the Wii...Not Mortal Kombat. (yes, I've played with the console already, and I think it's fun. But in a childish sort of way. *shrugs*))

The Wii is only good if you have a family you are raising (or if you are into playin children like games). Give it time and the 360 and the PS3 will surpass the Wii.

woah woah woah.... This apparently turned into bashing the Wii topic, well I will give you guys some facts

1) The Wii is not a "kiddy" console, it has M rated games like every other console, and Mortal Kombat Armageddon is one of them. Why isn't the 360 considered a Kiddy console since it also has E rated games? Exactly..

2)Kids (parents) are not the only ones buying the Wii, in fact, its even talked about sometimes in my HIGH school, not really bashed any by teenagers much.

3)The DS is actually the best selling system with over 50 million units sold...yeah.. But if your talking about consoles, then the Wii is outselling the 360 and PS3 by far.

4) There are plenty of great games coming out for ALL ages, E, T, M, and so on.

OK, now thats out of the way.

I think they should release the console versions since the Virtual Console contains no online play (I believe) because the console version seems to be more fit for singleplayer play, because the arcade versions can be difficult sometimes.

The Wii is THE KOOOOL thing to do, c'mon. Lol, I was at a stoner fraternity house and they had a Wii. It was fun, they had fun kiddy games to play, like shoot the balloons. I like my 360 for manly games, like Mass Effect. Wii for the WINZ!

The Wii is NOT a "kiddie" system. And most parent don't just woddles into a store and plop down $250 (though ebay's $300+ price is more likely) so that little Timmy can play digital baseball.

Nintendo, for some strange, stupid reason, still has that god-awful "kiddie" system moniker.

The N64 had it.... despite the fact that the games I own on the system were Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, Quake I & II, and Resident Evil 2.

The Gamecube had it... despite Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, etc.

Now the Wii has it. But, last time I checked, Metroid Prime 3 was a great, mature game. So was Zelda. So was Resident Evil 4 and Umbrella Chronicles. Manhunt 2 was superviolent and mature. And, even without the gore and blood, Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Galaxy are likely to be some of the best games released this and next year.

Anyway, back on topic; yes, Mortal Kombat needs to get on the Virtual Console, though hopefully with the blood intact this time.

but that is a last gen console
Meh. If you really need to play MK1 on a current-gen console, ask your friend with a PS3 and Deception Special Edition for the PS2. The bonus disc has MK.

Problem solved.

I really don't care what they say the Wii is a great system ppl may say O i like the 360 or the PS3 but everybody has their own opinions in what they like and each system has their own games each similar or not I think each is great so just get over it.

eh...

plus, something just occured to me. Sony has dibbs on MK II for the playstion store. Microsoft has mk 3 for x box live, what iconic mk could nintendo try to grab. it's either mk or mk trilogy which appeared on n64 if i'm not mistaken. so that leaves mortal kombat out unless you want your charactar to "sweat" everytime he's kicked....uh huh, that family friendly thing bites them in the ass from time to time.
