Not sure if this belong here, but I think that there should be an anthology about this series.

If I had it my way, this is what it would be like:

1.) Mortal Kombat 1: Arcade version.
2.) Mortal Kombat 2: Arcade version.
3.) Mortal Kombat 3: Arcade version.
4.) Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3: Arcade version.
5.) Mortal Kombat 4: Arcade version.
6.) Mortal Kombat Trilogy: PS version.
7.) MK Gold included.
8.) Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance: X-Box version (due to the X-Box having much better graphics & shorter loading times on games than the PS2 & Gamecube).
9.) Mortal Kombat: Deception: PSP version of Unchained (due to more characters & more modes).
10.) Mortal Kombat: Armageddon: X-Box version.

And the only MK adventure game that I'll be including is the X-Box version of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (as that's the best adventure game out of the three).

They'll also be cheats, tips, arts, music/sound tests, history modes explaining how it all began, etc.

What would you think about it?

As cool as this sounds, there would be problems

for example, Shang Tsung/Shinnok would have Morphing problems, because the chosen kombatant would have to be found(and chosen out of the multiple versions of the said kombatant)from the disk and that could lead to either memory problems, or character confusion(MK3 Tsung turning into MK1 Liu Kang, using MK2 Kung Lao moves)

oh, and why have multiple versions of the same game? why not take out MK4, and use an enhanced version of Gold? it would save room on the disk and keep the gaming style

another idea would be to take out the console specific-ness, why not make a MKx* Master Edition, featuring all console specific content, and the best graphics(for example, MKT Master Edition would feature PS1/N64 levels, both Chameleons, 3-on3 batlles, and Boss Fatalities)If i were to make an Anthology, it would be like this:

Mortal Kombat (Arcade Port)
Mortal Kombat II(Arcade Port
Mortal Kombat: Trilogy Master Edition
Mortal Kombat: Gold
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance Master Edition
Mortal Kombat: Deception Master Edition
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Master Edition
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

I don't anticipate a morphing problem for the older games when they're being emulated; for example, when playing MKII and MK3 on the PSII/PS3/Xbox/etc. Shang Tsung's morphs load up instantly.

I totally agree, im actually surprised they didn't do something like this consiering last year was mortal kombat's 15th anniversary...

Perhaps when its the 20th anniversary they will put all the 2d Mk games on one disc. I wouldnt be surprised. These games would be more likely to be in it i think: MK1 MK2 UMK3 MK4 MK:Trilogy MK:Gold MK: special forces MK: mythologies subzero I dont think the 3d games would make it on the disc, maybe shaolin monks...

An MK Anthology, hmm? glasses That would be a great idea, send it to Mr. Boon right away! But on a serious note, "G" your Anthology could include : Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub - Zero and Mortal Kombat : Shaolin Monks as Unlockable Games, and Mortal Kombat Gold, only -- not MK 4. Listed out it would look like this:

1. Mortal Kombat (Arcade Port)
2. Mortal Kombat 2 (Arcade Port)
3. Mortal Kombat 3 (Arcade Port)
4. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Arcade Port)
5. Mortal Kombat Trilogy (w/ Both Chameleon Kharacters)
6. Mortal Kombat Gold
7. Mortal Kombat : Deadly Alliance
6. Mortal Kombat : Deception
7. Mortal Kombat : Armageddon
8. Mortal Kombat Mythologies : Sub Zero (Unlockable Game)
9. Mortal Kombat : Shaolin Monks (Unlockable Game)

If possible, let me know what u think about this.wink

Ninjamaster -1, I find your ideas quite good, actually. But eliminating MK 4 would not make it seem like an anthology.

Dear Mr. Boon,

Has it ever crossed your mind of having an Anthology about the MK series? People like myself have been waiting for something like that for years, but yet, separate MK games have just been in compilations, & on either X-Box Live or Playstation Network. I was thinking if you would like to consider this kind of project in the near future. Here are the ideas:

1.) Mortal Kombat 1: Arcade version.
2.) Mortal Kombat 2: Arcade version.
3.) Mortal Kombat 3: Arcade version.
4.) Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3: Arcade version.
5.) Mortal Kombat 4: Arcade version (Revision 3, of course).
6.) Mortal Kombat Trilogy: PS version (As well as having the female Chameleon Ninja involved).
10.) Mortal Kombat: Armageddon: X-Box version (Again, like DA, & from what I heard, can display the game in native 720p).

And the MK adventure games can also be as unlockables. They are the Playstation version of MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Mortal Kombat: Special Forces, & the X-Box version of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.

On top of those things, you can also have cheats, tips, arts, music/sound tests, history modes explaining how it all began, etc. I'm very positive that both the X-Box 360 & Playstation 3 can handle all of those games, including loading times that occur in MK Trilogy, MK Gold, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon, & the three adventure games (especially when both of those systems have a colossal amount of space on both DVD-9 & Blu-Ray for all of those).

I would appreciate your answers & I hope that you'll consider it to be one of your projects someday.

Sincerely, one of your beloved fans."

Sorry that I didn't reply to you sooner. I also sent you an IM about it.

To Jironobou, I don't believe that there would be any morphing problems for Shang Tsung & for Shinnok's Mimicking character ability when it comes to both MK Trilogy & for MK Gold.

Remember the PS version of MK Trilogy, where it lets the system load two additional characters into memory when playing as Shang Tsung without having to deal with those loading times?

Well, the PS3 & the X-Box 360 have much more RAM & tons of power to do something about those. All the MK team would have to do would be to optimize the performance of the games &/or the PS3 & the 360's hardware, & Shang Tsung & Shinnok can instantly morph/mimick into all of the characters from MK Trilogy/MK Gold without loading. The same thing can happen with the loading times off of the CD MK games as well, & it would download the fights, etc in like, a few seconds. It would be like downloading the PS1 version of MK Trilogy off of a PS1 emulator. Also, Arcade versions of MK 1-4 & UMK 3 have no loading times at all.

Plus, I also chose the X-Box version of MK: Armageddon because that version can display it in native 720p on a HDTV.

See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MK_Armageddon, then look on the right hand side.
