Way to rehearse that which has made MK somewhat boring in the first place. Same old story, same old characters, no evolution.

Screwing around in Outworld for random reasons? Well, that kind of shit tells me you know little to nothing about the MK story.

I don't see why MK8 should be like a remake of MK1. It's pointless and doesn't move the series forward.

The last 2 games as in MKD and MKA? I don't see why you referring to the events as "random". We haven't really had an MK tournament as a main storyline for an MK game since MK2, and it doesn't necessarily have to return to being a tournament. I mean, considering how things have gotten out of hand, I'm not sure if having a tournament to fight for protecting the realm from an invasion would work anymore.

And if you do mean MKD and MKA, MKA's intro actually takes place in Edenia, not Outworld.

For storyline purposes, no character really HAS to come back. But there are some I would like to see continue for their stories....

- Sareena
A fresh face with massive potential. Can easily be the central Netherealm character. Torn between her desire to do good and her demonic nature. She already has several potential enemies and plotlines. She has everything she needs to be a star of the next generation. They just need to follow through on it.

- Mileena
I would like to see where Mileena would go if she finally got over her hatred for Kitana. I'd like to see her then shift to a neutral alignment and see her trying to forge her a life of her own.

- Drahmin
Another fresh face with an interesting backstory who'd make a good villain. Future Netherealm antagonist.

- Havik
New character with an open-ended story and interesting personality. Would like to see him continue to cause trouble in future games.

- Ermac
Interesting character who got a new shot of life after Deception. I can see him setting himself up as Outworld's defender in the next gen game and from there maybe grow into one of the main heroes.

- Li Mei
I want to see where Li Mei goes in future games. Whether as a hero trying to resist being corrupted or a fully corrupted villain.

- Tanya
I know everybody hates Tanya, but I think she makes a good villainess. If Jade returns, I'd like to see a rivalry between them get developed. I would also love to see a feud with Mileena...who, against Tanya, would find herself the lesser of two evils.

- Nitara
Nitara was a cool and interesting character that I'd like to see in future games. I'd rather her be a villainous character, but she can go any way.

- Jade
If Kitana steps aside from being the central Edenia character, I'd like to see Jade take the spotlight and become her own character.

- Fujin
With Raiden going bosco, Earth will need a new guardian to lead Earth's heroes. Would like to see Fujin adjust to that role and how he'll deal with Raiden.

- Raiden
Speaking of which, Raiden recent "dark" turn has opened new story possibilities for him and I'd like to see them followed through. Potential new main bad guy of the next gen games.

- maybe Kitana
I'll admit there is a part of me that would like to see a new chapter in Kitana's story. However...ONLY IF two things happen: one; get her away from Edenia. Defending Edenia and being the Edenian Princess was fun and it ran it's course. Now, she needs to move on....and by that, I do not mean make her Queen. Have something really bad happen to her that makes her renounce her title as princess. From there, she can find a new purpose and maybe regain some of her old assassin edge. And two; if he returns, get her away from Liu Kang. The romance between them is quickly becoming detrimental to her character. And it was never that good to begin with.

- maybe Noob Saibot
I'd rather the threat of Noob Saibot end with most of the other current threats...but there is also a part of me that would like to see this storyline get fully carried out. But just as long as they don't make him Sub-Zero again or even a fusion of them. Lame.

- maybe Sektor
Pretty much same deal as Noob Saibot. The Tekunin plot only just started and I would kind of like to see it get a chance to get fully played out.

- maybe Rain
Finding out he's Argus' son was an interesting twist that could maybe go somewhere. But I'd only really like to see Rain return if Kitana returns. I would like to see their interaction.
