As the 7 sins are pretty often used in movies and games without the entire boring religion part attached.

More like Sarcasm, only because I don't think this idea of 7 deadly sins fits on MK, but that's just my opinion.

If there is a place these sins fit in, its MK. All sinful warriors that fight with others and their sins.

Christianity has no place in MK, since the whole universe of MK discredits the existence of Jahwe. And the whole Lucifer in hell being overthrown by Shinnok is pretty much glossed over and irrelelvant.

On a personal note: I would loathe it, the seven deadly sins ARE religious concepts, think about this: how many Christian 'muricans are going to get even more fodder to yap about in MK?

I guess I don't see much difference between incorporating the 7 deadly sins and the Netherrealm in the game. I mean the Netherrealm is quite obviously supposed to be hell, a clearly Christian theme, but no one complains about that being in the game.

Hell, like the 7 deadly sins, has outgrown its religious roots. Everyone knows what Hell is, everyone knows what the 7 deadly sins, so its not like having these things in the game makes the game Christian.

Especially considering that other Religions and myths make their way into the game. Raiden and Fujin are from Shintoism, Cereberus from Greek mythology is seen in the Netherrealm. MK has always incorporated religious and mythological themes in the game, but it doesn't necessarily mean the game endorses them.

Sure, it has outgrown it's religious origins but the context is still the same. And this a purely personal peeve of mine, but the more the Netherrealm resembles the christian's fictional hell, the less I like it.

Also pay attention to what market MK is designed to: preteen to young adults, preferably sanitized: we all know how the USA culture promotes violence despite the hypocritical bashing about it, but some of the vices there are a pretty buig no-no. Lust for example. And the barkers will not stop at just that, especially if you intend to include the remaining six.

Make no mistake, any decent fanfic writer can make this work. The question is wether is it what MK really needs? And would NRS even allow it? MK basically stagnates in creativity for the most part when it comes to some aspects of design.

We will see if the enxt one will be a new jumping start or more of the same old. If the first one, then perhaps.

YOu guys link sins automatically to religion, while many games these days have the sins WITHOUT the freaking religion on them. So Vega automatically means there is religion in Streetfighter? Bo Rai Cho is gluttonous and religion is the key to that? Please...

The freaking sins are already IN the game. Some better exploit than others.

Envy and Wrath are really inside most characters.

Bo Rai Cho has freaking gluttony for alcohol, and many characters have gluttony for vengeance and power, gluttony has MULTIPLE meanings, not just food.

Lust is in all female costumes and Mileena uses it the entire time in MK2011.

Sloth = Khan, and all characters suffer from it with their teleports, the ability that really makes sloth.

Pride = Johnny Cage and probably more characters.

The only missing sin for me is the most awesome one, vanity, pure narcissus-like vanity..
