A question:

Does anyone want tag team battles to come back in MK X? Or would you prefer them to remain one on one battles only?

Personally I want the tag option back. It was awesome to make dream teams in MK 9.

What do you guys think about the tag battles?

I know some do, but it's not a feature I used in MK9, so I don't mind if it doesn't return in MKX. I just don't want it to be a main feature in the game, should it return, as I prefer 1on1 fights.
Yes yes yes. It's fun to switch back a forth with someone, and having the tag team moves were always entertaining. It made for great mashups, and made battles last longer. Not always a great thing if you and a friend are getting their asses kicked. It's always great to have another option too.

They should absolutely return. I don't see why they wouldn't.

I would love it back. It adds a huge range of possibilities when playing against other people. I always enjoyed watching what tag combos people could come up with.

In one of the interviews Boon was asked about it and he said he wasn't sure if it would return because not very many people used the mode. It sounded like the chance of it returning wasn't very high and not a priority for the MK team.

All of the interviews are one big haze to me at this point and I can't recall which one it was, but I remember him being asked about it. I may have been mistaken though.

I feel like there will definitely be a point in the story where you are in a 2 on 1 fight. It would be silly if they put the mechanics in for story but not the rest of the game.

Cool. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who wants it back. It's not a game changer for me... But it would be nice. Also, it works for both sides because those who don't want it don't have to use it. Like in MK 9 it should be optional.

Should return. And with the system Stance would give the opportunity to "change the style in the fight" simply choose the same character twice. And it's not something that takes a lot of space or work, besides giving the game a much greater survival.

I'm sure it will return.

I myself quite enjoyed it, and I would indeed enjoy it again.

I'm just surprised it wasn't a big thing amongst players. I spent the past 3 years assuming everyone and their mama loved tag mode. But I guess not. Seems like it's not Boon's main priority as of now according to the way he responded but I wouldn't be surprised if they threw it back in once all the major modes are finished. At least I hope.

I'd definitely like to see it come back. It was a great way to keep the ladder interesting.

Yes, but with some changes.

There should be "official" tag teams, as in, characters who are related to each other in the story (and who don't necessarily like each other), and who interact with one another during intros. They would also interact with other "official" teams. Pretty much like it was done in SF X Tekken. Maybe those teams should even get names that the announcer would refer to them as.

Official teams would get endings of their own, that would differ from both members' individual ones.

I wouldn't mind all character combinations getting unique intros and endings (Kotal Kahn X Mokap!), but knowing NRS, getting what I suggested above alone would be amazing.

I thought the mode was very well implemented, but its not something I really dug into. That being said, I wouldn't mind it coming back for the people that loved it.

I'll be damned if I am forced to use madated teams.

I would much rather form my own teams, with characters I prefer to play with.

I loved it, and I think most people did.

Problem is that most people used to fight one on one so that's why the data shows that it wasn't used a lot, but I think everyone loved it only that it was a mode used "for fun" most time, but a really cool one.

I want to tag team with Kuai Liang and Sareena, I hope the features (and characters) return!! :D

I was surprised to learn of it's under-use, as it's one of my favorite modes. I hope it returns, but I'm not too optimistic.

When did I say you shouldn't be able to form your own teams? All I suggested was that that only official teams get team-specific intros and endings. Not that you couldn't pair whoever you want. Good god.

My apologies, I took 'official' for mandating.

Though I don't really like this idea either. I just think tag teams should be another way to play. Intros and endings seem unnecessary.

@Riyakou

What would be wrong with tag team intros and endings? They'd increase the replay value, especially if every character combinations got them. It's not like it'd have any effect on the gameplay, anyway.

I want a team-up between Baraka and Cyrax to have some kind of explanation behind it, even if it's a completely ridiculous one. It could even contribute to the story a little, as we could see how two specific characters react to being teamed up. Hotaru and Cassie are not the likeliest characters to ever become connected, but we could still see how they'd react to one another in a situation where they're not merely fighting (which, knowing NRS, would be Cassie bumping into an enforcer, who happens to be Hotaru, who'd just grunt, followed by Cassie mocking him right before they fight).

At least arcade endings have some sort of validity to them.

These tag team endings would have no fit at all. We don't need ridiculous endings; we need endings with potential.
