I know what you're saying, I noticed that too. His mask seems to freeze up, but then it takes the appearance of his older cryo masks which is confusing me as to this either is:
A) a customizable item?
B) a trait? like Injustice had traits? clearly Scorpion has his flame on trait back from Injustice
or
C) maybe it's just like you said, through out the gamelpay his mask just freezes up?
Interesting I didn't know about the injustice traits, I'm reading about them now, could be interesting and the mask could be an indicator, though I think it's too bright on that state compared with the rest of the costume.
