So I possess Mortal kombat X since yesterday. And no regrets it is an amazing game even the character roaster which first gave me doubts surprised me positively.

I haven’t played al characters yet but those I did were fun to play. But I am here to talk about Sub-Zero’s grandmaster variation. I don’t see the use of it. The grandmaster variation is as we all know the variation that can make ice clones and you have the ability to throw them at the opponent. But the ice clones can’t be made in the air or in a combo in the same way you could as in mk 9. You can only made it on the ground standing. And the throwing option is a bit useless as it is a projectile which can easily be seen coming the moment you made a clone all the opponent has the do is block. You either throw it at him which is then blocked or you lose your clone because it will get lost quickly.
In my opinion the unbreakable variation is the substitute variation which render the grandmaster variation useless. The ice wall the unbreakable variation can make can even block projectiles if timed well. They are both defensive variations but I believe the grandmaster variation has been made useless.

But maybe you guys have played him and see the potential of it and I would like to hear your opinion and tips about it. In my personal opinion is the Cryomancer variation the best.

Well, the clone still has a lot of effects on footsies which is important, I don't have the game yet so I haven't tried. My main variation will very probably be Cryomancer but I'm sure Grandmaster will be a very relevant variation, specially with people like Tom Brady maining it in tournaments. Edit: Also, IIRC they said you could freeze twice during combos (I think as long as the freeze comes from a different source). Not sure on that, but it could be a big difference when compared with MK9 clone.
