Stryker was a badass in MK9 and he quickly became my new favourite fighter,
so I'll be pretty disappointed if he doesn't return for MKX.

I wanted to do this thread to see if anyone else can think of new moves/ stories/ finishing moves/ gameplay that would make him even more badass than MK9?
how he could be bought back? and what direction should NRS take him?

I have mentioned this in a few other posts but I really want him to be given some futuristic technology, like a gun or device that shoots blue laser bolts and have him further explored in his new role as a Special Forces member.

I'm interested to know if Kabal will still be an ally to Stryker if he becomes a black dragon or will the two turn on each other?

also for his intro he should jump down from a helicopter at the top of the screen before letting out his battle cry!

and for a fatality he could strap a handful of grenades onto his victims head, giving them just enough time to look freaked out before they get the worse headache ever!! lol

and if Animalities return in MKX then NRS MUST have Stryker because he had the best one, also it would be funny because Jurassic Park 5 is also out next year!

ideas please! grin

Joining the army while rotting in Hell is a pretty neat trick. Truly Stryker is the greatest of the chosen ones.

Stryker is badass. What I was thinking if he is to be included in MKX,he should be a part of the team which includes him,Kabal and Jax that wants to eliminate SF and naturally Sonya Blade by Quan Chi's order. Since Johnny Cage is alive and protective of Sonya,he would like to help to bring the good guys back somehow. I think this Johnny/Sonya vs Jax/Kabal/Stryker has a very good subplot potential for MKX. You can even throw in Kano there if he is present (and he is incredibly rich and powerful now since trading weapons with Outworld and given his MK9 ending) and make him strike some kind of a deal with Quan Chi. He has history with everyone there except Stryker (who is Kabal's closest friend and partner,so naturally he will be dragged into it)

As for the moves,he is undead now,so I would imagine he has the same fighting style and weapons, but maybe some magic to them, like he is Brotherhood of Shadows member now (and not necessarily shadow moves, just some undead magic). Think like Ghost Rider's weapons and motorcycle get on fire when he uses his powers.

Plenty of possibilities to take Stryker's story, especially given the fact that he is undead now.

Perhaps he refers to the Challenge Tower mission where Stryker has to save Sonya from bleeding (obviously that was a joke, she was severed in half) and fighting Kano. In that case, Stryker was mentioned to be a part of Special Forces.

Of course the whole thing was non-canon

I'm liking it! and having Stryker undead is a great chance to give him powers for one game, maybe even a way of obtaining some abilities and taking them with him once he is restored to his mortal self, there really are many directions for Stryker at this point and I'm excited to see which path NRS will take him, anything will be improvement from Midways initial idea of having him become a seidon guard in orderrealm lol

thanks for the awesome feedback grin

non-canon but it gives me hope that NRS included that as I think Special Forces is the way forward for Stryker's story and involvement in MK.

Actually,to be honest,I liked that Seidan guard idea from MK Deception. It would actually be MORE logical to do it this time around, because as you remember Kabal allied with Havik after cleric healed him from Mavado's attack. And besides that,Kabal turned from anti-hero vigilante to a Chaos fanatic and anarchist with all that reforming Black Dragon and Kira/Kobra stuff.

And naturally, who are enemies of Chaos? That's right,Seidans. So Stryker witnessing that Kabal is turning evil and feeling the need to get additional training from Orderrealm people kinda makes sense. Especially since MK9 established Kabal and Stryker as partners and IF Kabal goes down that path with Havik again after MKX once he is alive again I think Stryker should stop him and therefore repeat this Seidan subplot.

Of course your idea of him being resurrected and retaining some of his undead mojo is cool as well, because I feel NRS want Johnny Cage to travel to Seido and learn their ways judging by his MK9 ending which doesnt make sense because I would figure that representatives of law and order of OTHER realms are natural selection for Seidan Academy, not some celebrity.

I agree that the Seidan Academy is well suited for Stryker in connection to the law but orderrealm seemed a pretty slow pace realm to me, Stryker is a non-stop fighter and that's why I'd rather see him in the Special Forces getting involved in the action, also not many other good characters reside in orderrealm so I'd rather he stay connected with strong regulars: Sonya/ Jax/ Cyrax/ Kenshi/ Kabal/ Kano etc besides his own realm is Earthrealm and that's who Special Forces fight for.

Good stuff. Here's how I'd like Stryker to be like Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. He should be a double agent, so working for Special Forces on one hand and also working for others on the other hand.

I have liked Stryker since MK3 and in MK9 he is at his best. I'd certainly would like him to return in MKX.
If he was to be revived as a human as good, he would certainly side with the SFs. However, revived as human, but, controlled, he would join with the bad.
Since MK3, I wished he had one of those Swat/Riot Shields. Maybe if he came back, he could get one?
As a Fatality, I'm thinking that an electric fence would be cool. Stryker throws a gadget, which lands behind his opponent. The gadget extracts and becomes an electric fence. Stryker pops his foe with a couple of bullets sending him/her onto the fence. The electricity fries his opponent, turning them crisp...Fatality! Additional: Stryker can crumble his foe after them turning crisp by hitting 'em with his baton or a grenade.

How about Stryker be saved until 11 when he and the rest of the dead heroes are brought back at the end.

Then eventually Stryker can join Special Forces if possible.

Stryker redeemed himself in MK2011, now let him rest in peace along with Kabal and Nightwolf (both who I always liked). There are other post-MK3 characters that deserve to be redeemed by Netherrealm Studios, not to mention make room for new characters.

and Stryker, Kabal, Nightwolf should miss out on MKX because they aren't ninjas I suppose? where I'm sure you're happy to have Kitana, Jade, Sub Zero return?

I get that the ninjas have a big fan base but there's also fans like myself who like diversity in the character roster, maybe characters like Kabal, Stryker and Nightwolf deserve a spot more than anyone to give them a fair chance to further develop and strengthen as characters, in all honesty I won't be interested in MKX without Stryker so it's important to me that he's in the game.

agree with you buddy! nice fatality idea, electrocution is always a good way to die, crispy!

new moves ideas:

*laser gun
*tear gas
*riot shield
*dark magic (undead Stryker)

Thanks.

@StrykerKombat

I'm not even that big a fan of all the ninjas, nor the female ones. Honestly, I could do without half of them, but the truth is, MANY of them are so integrated into the plot that they have to be there.

Not to rain on your post but if you're not interested in MKX just because Stryker isn't in it then you are not much of a fan and you don't have a right to really criticize the game. Look, it took YEARS to bring back Stryker because the MK team knew he didn't really fit within the universe and the ONLY reason he came back is because Armageddon was like "Trilogy 2" so he had to be there, everyone was, and MK2011 was for a similar reason, because he was from that era of the storyline.

And look, they killed him in that too.

I understand you're not a fan but I created this thread for feedback on what would improve and develop him further, but thanks for the comments, I haven't said a bad word against MKX other than I wouldn't be interested if Stryker is absent but I do believe I have a right to criticize MKX or any other game if I wanted, but I am very excited for MKX, just hope to see my favourite fighter return- that is all.

What about a new look for Stryker such as a bionic arm that could shoot shit out or some flexible steal armor.

a full suit of steal armour would be badass! not to the extent of making him Robocop but that would make an awesome concept design! bionic arms are Jax's thing, I'm going to draw some designs and see how they come out.

But in Challenge Tower 20 Scorpion was revealed to hate teddies. God that one mission spawned a whole line-up of unusual and ridiculous fanart and fiction on deviantart.

The power of what one mission can do...

the challenge tower missions were also a good way for NRS to get creative and test out little ideas to see how fans respond to them, I hope they keep Challenge Tower in future games grin

that's not at all what I had in mind, I shall draw some designs and upload them when I get a chance.
