I kind of hope they start the story at the 25 years later mark then work backwards to the results of MK9. Concentrating on the key players that propelled the story into that situation. All the while slowly revealing why character A is here instead of character B, or having this interaction with character C instead of character D.

EDIT: In other words, don't spoon feed me the story. Make it a challenge and keep me guessing!

Well we're not sure if they'll start at 25 years later but they'll be doing a lot of jumping around so this'll definitely happen. Especially with the 'big bad' being a returning character we don't expect. I wouldn't be surprised if we found out who it was before we found out how they got to that status.

I don't want CHAPTERS, just fights that happen during the storyline, i'm not above seeing much more happening and playing less.

Absolutely agree(8 hours of cutscenes? Fine with me). I'm sure they probably made chapters so you could concentrate on playing one character at a time so you could be better at playing them.

I also agree with being able to play as the bad guys from both a story AND gameplay perspective. Playing the story mode made it easier to not just pick up the good characters but also figure out how to beat the bad ones, and with nothing like MKDA Konquest(which I think should be brought back) or any detailed training mode, i'm sure it had an impact of people not playing with the bad guys as much when you already know how to play the good guys if you went through story mode.

I wouldn't be surprised if they purposely made the story mode characters better than the non-story mode characters since we'd have to play with them. I mean characters like Kabal, Cyrax, Kung Lao, Cage, Sub & Scorp are both more viable and seen more often on the competitive side(gaming tournaments & online) than Sindel, Sheeva, Sektor, Kano, Baraka.

I'd like it if you could choose a character, any from the roster, and then watch Story Mode be played out through their eyes.

E.g., you choose Sub-Zero, you fight maybe up to 6-8 people while going through his side of the story. Afterwards you can choose another character, like Cassie, and then you play her side of the Story Mode while fighting 6-8 people.

This sounds like something they could easily do in the arcade ladder. In several Tekken games their 'ladder' shows the character's bio in the beginning, and 1-2 fights are story driven(shows a cutscene of the characters interacting which leads to a fight). For example, if you're playing Scorpion, since it's an arcade ladder the majority of the fights would be random but let's say Round 4 would have you fighting Sub-Zero. A little cutscene would happen and then they fight. Scorpion wins, and since it's just the arcade ladder he can do whatever he wants(kill the guy, take him to hell, friendship?). Maybe Round 7 could have him fighting Quan Chi and the same thing would happen.

I think this would be a great upgrade to MK's arcade ladder, and this way even some of the bad guys could have their way. Every character gets an ending and for the most part the endings are in their favor anyway(bad guys kill who they want, end up superior, blah blah) so why not have the arcade ladder work in their favor as well? If we don't get to play as the bad guys in the story I believe this would be a good alternative.

And if Subbie fights Cassie along his storyline, then Cassie will fight Subbie along her storyline as well.

I'd disagree with this part only because it'd be redundant. Makes total sense, but it'd be a waste to tell the same part of a story with just a different outcome.
