I know he's a joke character, but I think he could be turned into a serious character. Here's my story idea for him below, and if he's already been decomfirmed, I don't care.


Story: Back when he was alive, he was a butcher, and a particularly sadistic one. Any animals he could find during his free time, he'd bring them home and kill them in any particularly cruel way he could think of.

His activities eventually became known by certain people, who were appalled, kidnapped him and had him eaten alive by pigs. The spirits of the animals he butchered claimed his soul before it went to the netherrealm, put it back in his resurrected and healed body, only to then skin him, leave him in perpetual pain, and incapable of killing himself, though others could kill him.

The only way for him to get a reprieve, is to butcher people exactly like him. He's been fighting evil in the hope that he will be killed, until one day, a sorcerer named Quan Chi came to him and altered his curse. He would now get his reprieve whenever he served him.


Another thing they could do is drop the "Meat" name, and make the character a woman (since it's pretty obvious naming a female character "Meat" could prove controversial). I admit to being fond of the skinless Julia in the second Hellraiser movie. This female version could still have the story I suggested above.

Gameplay-wise, Meat should keep some of the MKA moves like the bowling head and the bloodport (teleport special). A new stun special could include pairs of chains coming from both sides to nab the opponent.

Design-wise, Meat could be covered in bandages like Julia in Hellraiser 2 (not mummy bandages like Drahmin's alt in MK:DA), or clad in white blood-soaked butcher garb.

Two more things to conclude. 1) I liked the cleavers and wouldn't mind them becoming Meat's trademark weapons. 2) Just for the sake of detail, if we get any skinning fatalities, when done on Meat, they should reduce him to a bloody skeleton, while others end up like his "live" self.

I see no reason Meat has to remain a joke. He wouldn't be the only one who became a serious character.
