When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.

I'm sure this has been discussed before by most of you, but I could not find a thread about Stage Fatalities on the first 5 pages.

There are bound to be stage finishers again. And there should be, as they are a part of MK. I enjoyed most of them during MK9. The one I liked the most was the one exclusive for PS3, in that Kratos stage where you could decide for yourself how to kill your enemy.

What do you think? Should that return? I really hope it does. It added a new layer to stage finishers and more enjoyable to watch. Can't wait to see more of this actually!

Those variable stage fatalities were the only good thing to come out of Kratos's inclusion, so I'd love to see the general idea come back.

For example, if you want to perform a stage fatality in the Dead Pool, you could either punch your opponent into the acid or on to the hooks.

That seems like a good idea grin

I expected those hooks to be used in MK9. So Maybe we'll see that in MKX. I liked the Kratos stage fatalites... though I feel they were not overly well executed. The idea was a good one though. So I want it to return in this particular fashion.

Stage fatalities are always a fun way to end a match. But why do they have to be so generic for everyone. I mean if you're at the Pit, EVERYONE gets uppercut off the balcony to there death. Living Forrest EVERYONE got tossed into the tree.

I think everyone should have a stage fatality done in their OWN fashion. Therefore it seems that every gets another *ality* added to their move set.

For example:
The Pit:
Kano- walks up to his opponent grabs them by the back of their neck/collar & pants and just tosses them over the Pit falling to their death, and they either fall to their deaths on spikes or the ground back or stomach first.

Sub Zero- freezes around the opponents feet and the slip back off the balcony holding on to the ledge. Subby touches their hand and it freezes, He stands up and smashes their hand sending them plummeting to their death.

I think giving players this kind of variety would go over well and make the game that much more enjoyable!

What do you think?

^ I really like that idea. It may be too much work for all 30+ characters to have a unique finisher for each stage fatality, though, even if at the most there were about 5 or 6 stage finishers. But I really love the idea, and hey, go big or go home I suppose.

I thought it would be a nifty idea to maybe split the characters into groups that would determine how they would perform specific stage fatalities. Using MK9's Hell stage fatality as an example, I always thought the act of forcing the opponents head under the lava was a bit brutal for some of the good guys to do, like say Sonya or Nightwolf.

I get it though, the whole game is extreme yadda yadda. But I thought it would be cool for a good guy like Sonya or Nightwolf to maybe throw the loser into the lava and call it a day, while a demented character like Reptile or Mileena would go with the original fatality.

Basically the stage would have two variations. See the body get burned to a crisp, or focus on the face getting melted away. And of course this could apply to pretty much all the other stages. Thoughts?

Every Stage on the New Mortal Kombat X should be a stage fatality.

I believe that huge spinning thing in the back of the Outworld Market is going to be a variable stage fatality. It has 4 tiers each with some sort of spikes on it

I've been suggesting something like that for years. So of course, I agree.

Does no one want the classic uppercut stage transitions? This should've been in MK9, and since it wasn't I want to see it now.

From another thread...

Shame. I was kind of hoping for the classic MK3/Trilogy transitions. Quick, clean, and didn't interrupt game play.
Only environment interactions I'm liking so far is the ability to leverage yourself out of a corner and environmental weapons. Not too keen on Blanche, and the body and barrel throws.

But hey, it's still early on.
I liked just about all the classic stage fatalities, The Pit and The Prison are probably my favorites. The majority of MK9's were greatly disappointing though. Kratos' stage, and the Dead Pool were the only decent ones imo. And Dead Pool barely scathes by (the death cries almost ruined it.)

Betcha we'll see one at Gamescom!...At least I'm hoping so.

If the transitions weren't all so generic between for everyone i would be down for it. If they all had there own way of transitioning a character then id definitely be all about it!

They should definitely bring back the original Pit II fatality where the opponent plummets to his/her death and lands on CONCRETE! NOT SPIKES! Imagine the aftermath of that and the realistic damage with these graphics!

Thing it should be a combo of both. If the opponent hits the ground then spikes come up impaling them, or if the spike are up and the opponents land on them, the spikes should retract back into the ground sliding the opponent off of them.

I'm with you on this. Was bummed that the Lung Hai temple sea monster stage fatality was not included in MKDA. So wish it would come back in some form or another!

I kind of like this stage fatality/trap, but I'm not sure how it would work with the 2D arenas.

I'd like to see the Kombat Tomb with the upper spikes return. Also, make it that if we choose to have the opponent slide off by holding down.
The return of the Portal would be cool. Have them actually throw their opponent in in and watch as they get sapped by the electricity and turn to dust.

Those are great ideas. The first one reminds me of the movie when Liu Kang killed Shang Tsung. This might sound dumb but what if there were two sides? Like if you fall off one side your doom is met with spikes and on the other side your doom is met on concrete?
