Yesterday at the IGN.com interview with Ed Boon, one or both of the parents of Cassie were confirmed playable!

Ed mentioned that they had the discussion about what to do with Fatalities now that they had to deal with relatives for the first time.

What do you think? Johnny/Sonya? Both?

He mentioned it while talking to Giant Bomb. This suggests they can be fought, but does not confirm them to be playable.
