The official Sony website is now showing a listing for the Mortal Kombat HD Arcade Kollection. They are taking preorders and listing the release date to be November 17. This is quite interesting.

UGH! Seems like everyone has had a listing for this damn thing except Amazon... and yet no images, aside from alleged box art.

Hell, even Duke Nukem Forever is finally coming out, this is inexcusable!

WTF Warner Bros! Just fucking announce the game already. I'm sick of this crap. I bet by the 17th they are going to come out and be like oh sorry about that but the games gonna come out in April. In which case the bigger, and better MK will be out by then. If they manage to release sometime in December and give us a demo for MK2011 then I'll be satisfied other wise this is a bunch of crap.

This game seemed extremely interesting when it was assumed to be out this year, especially with a demo of mk 9, but even at a budget price, im not buying two MK games within a few weeks of each other, especially when MK 9 is essentially an HD upgrade to the first 3 games anyway, and with more features.

WB already dropped the ball with th MK franchise between screwing up all the advertising and the website, releasing an MK game in the spring instead of fall, and now this whole hd remix thing, WB can suck my monkey balls.

ok, so I guess it is real otherwise I seriously doubt sony would have list it on their website. The only thing at this point is, is sony's release date the real one or not? I think it is to be honest with you, but if so or not , its the dumbest marketing move EVER for WB. At anyrate, it wouldn't hurt to check places by wed depending on when or if this ships this upcoming week. BTW, just cause walmart doesnt have it in yet doesn't mean it isn't coming out yet. Wal mart doesn't always get new games the very first week anyway.

I hope it comes out this coming week, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't.

Well, the listing has been on there for a bit... but I think the box art just recently made an appearance. At first I thought it was a user posted image, but I noticed it was lacking the little red/blue symbol in the lower right corner that was on Jeux Video's page (I think that was the name).

Also, is anyone checking out esrb.org or pegi.info for signs of a rating? I've been heading to both sites once in a while to see if anything crops up.

Blockbuster.... hey remember them???... also now has a listing up for the game showing an 11/17 release (http://www.blockbuster.com/games/catalog/gameDetails/25582). Strange that these two sites would just now update their listings (especially if the game isn't real or has been delayed).

Wow, nice find...

...Blockbuster is hard to find these days wink

In all seriousness, it is still something after all. Even if the shops go under completely, they'll be pushing online sales and rentals. But yeah, it looks like a lot of places are leaning towards releasing it on the 17th now.

I dunno though, we keep seeing things for December, January (mainly for the French release), and even March. A straight answer would be nice! Hell, we keep seing things for the Sly Cooper HD collection, and I think it's even already out.

Nope, PSN updates every Tuesday.

The way I see it, if it isn't out by Wed, then it isn't coming out this month.

It's disc-based. Don't look for anything on PSN.

Went to Walmart on the way to work this morning. No luck. I'll check with my local Gamestop when I get home.

Did you see what they did with Prince of Persia? It's disc based only in Europe and the US is PSN exclusive. These games were rumored at the same time, so perhaps this will be the route MK is going too.

"Doesn't exist", well I guess it depends on how you define exist. It at some point had to be a project at the least, which is why websites had it posted for pre-order. I do not think that someone at gamestop reads forums, tells his boss about a new game he heard about, and then they post pre-orders on their website. I'm pretty sure that they get that information from the publisher, which means at some point it existed in some way.

Now, how close it is to release, or if the project has been scrapped is another question, but yes, it most definitely exists.

I called the Warner Bros. phone number that provided in the other post. I spoke with a Midway Technical Support guy. He told me that MK:HDAK was a Midway project and now that Midway is closed; he is not sure what would become of such a project. It's my assumption that Warner Bros. doesn't even know if this project even exists anymore.confused

Too bad the box shot (which was never seen under midways control) has a WB logo on it.

Il bet you this is still coming out, just delayed until early 2011

Woah woah woah, why are we even talking about this? We KNOW that theyve been shooting sprites with new actors.

And the "cancelled by vendor" was probebly just because of Midways collapse. And AFTER MIdways Demise and they were under WB, Boon said behind closed doors to MKuniverse that he "isnt supposed to talk about it" but at the same time he "doesnt want to lie". So tell me why he woudl say that if the game was cancelled, he would have full disclosure jsut like the cancelled MKSM2:FI

Checkmate, see you in 2011
