Pretty sure it does the same with a couple of the Faction Kills.

MK9 also had a few problems like that.

It's nothing new, Jax's T-Wrecks fatality does the same thing.

I didn't mean to make it sound like this was anything new. It's just a nitpick. Different topic, what kind of Jason icons are available? Is there one of Jason's mother's head?

Not that I have found yet. They're mostly hockey mask themes, aside from the Variation emblems you unlock just like everyone else.

Did he turn out to be fujin, that would be pretty interesting!

I find it interesting that there is no alternate costume for jason. Why won't they give DLC alternate costumes?

It isn't completely impossible , Zod got a MOS alternate in Injustice after all. Still though, I wouldn't count on it lol

Anyway I love his 1 round win pose/action lol he looks at them stand up and kind of tilts his head like "Is this fool really getting up after that ass whoopin? " lol

So far I am loving him, still playing around trying to come up with some nice strings, I haven't had much time with him today but ill be trying to cook up something with him tomorrow for sure :)

Being a massive Jason fan, i spotted all these pretty easily

1. his second fatality is called "Sleeping Bag Killer"

This is referencing the kills involving sleeping bags from Parts 7, X and the remake...even though the fatality itself does not include a sleeping bag. Missed opportunity


2. His P2 color gives him the mask from Part 5 and the remake Jason. So basically if you pick P2 Jason, you're playing as Roy from Part 5, not Jason.


3. His Relentless mask has a chrome metallic luster to it, referencing the poster for the movie "Jason Goes To Hell," a movie I don't reccomend



5. His second brutality is also referencing this movie, being called "Go to Hell"

6. His first fatality is called "Kill for Mother"

This is referencing a line that Mrs. Voorhees said in the opening of the Friday the 13th remake

7. His health buff gives him a white light glowing out of his mask. This is referencing the opening to Part 7 and the poster for Part 6



8. One of Jason's combos is called "Camp Blood" Which is the nickname for Jason's territory, Camp Crystal Lake


9. His round winpose is actually an homage to Michael Myers. His head tilt is exactly like the one Myers does in the first Halloween



10. His stream is called "Jason Lives" which is the subtitle for Part 6

The chain around his neck in one of his variation is a nod to the end of part 6 where he gets chained underwater by Jarvis, which he also still has in part 7. Then there is the obvious one in the variation where gets resurrected by lighting if he loses a round, a nod to how he is revived in Jason Lives. Also in his second fatality, sleeping bag killer, at the very end he still has a limb in his hand for a second before tossing it aside, that could possibly be a reference to Burt in Jason lives, he tosses him to the side and still has his severed arm in his hand for a second lol

I can probably find more tomorrow once I have more time to play as him and go through his move lists and stuff

Smokeman is a serious jason fan, my gooodness! i loathe the the fact hes in mk, not as bad as freddy, nowhere close to it. I get he has a big following, but giving him that bs armor move in all 3 variants, when raiden can only tele in one, and its lackluster, chaps my ass something fierce. As long as some ACTUAL MK characters make the dlc cut, hopefully fujin and cyrax, maybe reiko or havik also, then the saltyness will die down

I dislike that there are guests also, but you just have to accept it. If you want to talk about feeling like your character is weak in comparison to others, and how much your character gets the short end of the stick, try being a Reptile or Rain fan, then we'll see just how "salty" (I hate that expression) you can get.

Until then, "your best claim to the salt is moot."

Yeah i also share your pain on reppy.. He was a certified BAMF in mk9, now hes meh. Overall, raiden is still very strong, he s my 2nd best fighter in mk x. Im glad that they finally got it right with a guest with the predator! I like to do a little test. If you pretend the predator movies never happend (thank god it didnt, pred 1 is THE BEST MOVIE EVER) would he "fit " as a character. the answer is absolutely no doubt about it. An alien species that are master hunters, and warriors with technology way more advanced than our own. Fits like a comfy shoe. Kratos is on the same boat, not quite as much but he fits also. Freddy or jason? No fucking way. Would you agree?

I know you're not talking to me but I disagree. As a huge fan of MK and Friday The 13th I feel that Jason fits in just fine. I think most things work fine due to how the MK universe is, its set up so there can be pretty much anything in it without it seeming out of place, imo.

I just think in such a diverse universe, he works well. He really isn't much of a fighter in the same sense most MK characters are, but he is a beast. I guess you could compare him to Moloch or Torr in a way, in that he is not trained in martial arts or an actual fighting style, but he can still kick major ass and f**k some s**t up lol

Reptile got his ass handed to him in the very first fight in the story by a guy who had no clue what was going on in MK9. Here he's just a punching bag again. Reptile hasn't been a badass since the first three games (he fuckin dies in his own ending in MK4) so I'm not sure what you mean.

As for guest characters, I don't like them at all. I would prefer characters that never got their own spotlight like Fujin or Hotaru. Maybe even (delicious) Sareena, or Skarlet. Perhaps Rain or Havik. Drahmin or Moloch. Hell, even just another ninja that's a different color. Yes, I just said it. #COMATMEHBRAH but until then, you just have to accept it, and move on.

I'm not saying criticism is bad, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying there's not much we can do to change what has already been done, so enjoy it and look on the bright side of things.

Yeah I see where your coming from. But at the same time what unique traits does jason bring to the table? He's a pissed off undead guy with a machete.? That makes for a good horror flick plot, especially with momma jason in the 1st one, but i dont think its enough for an MK character. I certainly agree with you saying the MK universe is so diverse and unique, but look into the characters details. Take kotal kahn for example, an aztec/mayan conquer that people of earthrealm worshipped as a god! he has that giant sword which wrecks tricks, his osh-tek sun powers (he controls the power of the sun FFS!!) Last but not least the blood god powers. . Not all the MK chars are so deep, but they all have a lot more going for them than jason does. Just my take

@thatoneguy Bro, are you seriously doubting the legendary skills of the ninja mime? He is the special effects!! Old man shinnok found out the hard way, ol raiden and fujin were getting murked by shinny shin shin til my boy showwed up to give him the knuckles

Yeah Jason doesn't really have a complex or super unique design, but not all the MK characters do either tbh. Look at Johnny Cage's primary in this game, dude is dressed pretty casual, if he wasn't labeled as Johnny Cage he would just look like some random guy any of us could pass in the grocery store :)

As for what he actually is, I think pissed off undead guy with machete is more interesting than say....Some cop/SWAT guy (Stryker) or some gang leader (Kano) hell his cyber eye was really the only thing that made him unique for the longest time, same with Jax, some military guy, nothing really interesting there, luckily his cyber arms make him somewhat more interesting ;D

Don't get me wrong I am not trying to knock any MK characters, MK is one of my all time favorite fictional things ever, but I also love FT13th and would be lying if I said I thought Stryker or Kano were more interesting than my boy Jason

I'd agree all day about Stryker, as far as design, but I'd also still take him over jason for one reason jason can never claim, hes an MK character! !but Kano? No way my dude, kanos design in mkx is too perfect. his gameplay is solid, i almost mained him initially. Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise despite how bad some of those flicks were. But hey, its not freddy again so there's a consulation prize

Kano's design in this game is pretty good, my main thing with mentioning him was his actual character, some leader of a gang (im simplifying here lol) or Stryker, some cop/SWAT, see I think Jason and his story is far more interesting than those things.

That's just me though, I have always found horror slashers, mystic, supernatural, and just generally odd characters more interesting than more "realistic" characters.

Even with movies in general im like this, I can sit and watch horror movies all day, but put on a war movie or something like that and ill probably sit there and daydream in my head the whole time lol

I'm just drawn to more abnormal/supernatural stuff, that's why I was drawn to MK as a child and barley ever popped in the Street Fighter 2 cartridge, all those characters seem like regular people for the most part besides maybe Blanka
