So what if Kitana is indeed Mileena?

I Know this has been speculated and even mentioned in the render but I haven't seen anyone really discuss it properly

For me I can see various pros and cons to this scenario which I'll list below

Pros: This would be a wonder for the character of Mileena. I think nearly everyone was disappointed with the cunning Mileena being reduced to a crazy child in Mk9.
As MKx is set so long after MK9 this would give Mileena time to develop into a more sophisticated villain

Cons: Most people were also disappointed with the Disney Princess Kitana we saw in MK9 and it would seem like a real slap in the face to her character to have what is widely thought of as her best ever look in MK to actually not even be her


Basically it is a toss up to whether you what to raise Milenna's character to the detriment of Kitanas


It would also bring up some questions due to their fighting differences. Is Kitanas Fans and Mileenas Sais magical weapons that they happen to wield, or are they part of the girls own powers in some way

Its a fantasy so it could always just be explained as "a wizard" (shang) gave Mileena Kitana's arsenal"

If it is the case they would have to save Mileena's reveal until the game actually came out as it would clearly be a plot twist in story mode

I'm not sure what I really want but I think this could be a really brave move on NRS's behalf

Thoughts???

I can see a lot of Kitana fans pissed, and I don't want to see more pissed off fans.

To be honest, I don't want to see Mileena actually be Kitana here. I'd rather have her stay with her pink outfit and use that to somehow fool a lot of people. She's already done that, even though it was a bit foolish to actually see that with Smoke but...

The thing is, I really hope that she's found a way to be matured. Her Deception character was by far the best of her, and they threw that away to make her a sex object (despite it was hardly successful, at least in my eyes) and an annoying brat. I want this strategic, "Ooh, I have my sister's looks and can use that to my advantage" Mileena.

To be honest, and I've said this before, I would like to see these two actually team up. As much as I've thought about it, I would like it to happen. But of course, the predictable ending where Mileena or Kitana would betray the other most likely would happen. You know, have it where Kitana and Mileena could find a way to get back Edenia by ruling as one person but having Mileena impersonate Kitana to help her get closer to take back what's hers/theirs. And expand with that idea.

As a Kitana fan, I don't want this to be a repeat of what they done in Deception. I personally hate Mileena, no offense to those who like her, and I enjoy playing as Kitana and watching her fatalities. Kill the evil NOT MY SISTER. After watching the trailer, I think Kitana is going to be so badass that this will be her best portrayal yet. Plus she has one of the best voice actresses....Bleach fans should know this since she played as Soi Fon, excuse me if I misspelled.

I like the idea of Mileena taking advantage of her appearance and pretending to be Kitana, but I do not really want her to play like Kitana (having the fans, using the fan lift)

I like Mileena a lot more than Kitana, so if Mileena is in id rather her have her sias, ball roll, telekick and actually play like Mileena, not Kitana.

As someone who gives no shits about Kitana and Mileena (and so unbiased) I think it's pretty clear that Kitana is Kitana. Mileena will likely be in the game as well so I don't really see the logic of having Mileena disguised as Kitana.

I think i'm getting tired of the internet, seeing the stupidest things on here really bothers me. Especially when it's actual people, asking actual stupid questions or coming up with the dumbest "what ifs". She's not Mileena, that's fucking stupid, I didn't even need to read what OP said to say this. I like to think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and thoughts, but i'm second guessing that.

The thing of it is her hair even resembles what hairstyle Mileena would have and Kitana in my opinion would never have her hair like that so it is possible that the Kitana we are playing as at least in one variation is Mileena. Mileena may be playable as herself in the game. I myself can't wait till she gets revealed. MKX is going to be amazing.smile

Based on the dialogue between Kitana and Quan Chi in the reveal trailer, it is safe to say that Kitana is Kitana. Kitana's voice tone is pissed off and revengeful, which makes it safe to say that Kitana is about to handle Quan Chi.

It wouldn't make sense why Mileena would work them fans like Kitana. She doesn't have the ability or skill.

I can't wait to see how their first interaction will be like. Mileena will probably get her ass kicked, again.

Well,

In my interpretation if this was the case, once Mileena revealed herself, she would then don her pink costume and Sai's, so she would still be playable as herself....

like, once this twist occurred she would then be unlocked

It would be the single dumbest choice NRS would've made since Create a Fatality. Why would Mileena even need to impersonate Kitana anyway? Kitana died and Mileena would've been next in line for the throne anyway. It doesn't make any sense.

I understand Mileena fans want her cunning nature back, but pretending to be Kirana is not the way to do it.
