Reptile's people evolved from the dinosaurs millions of years ago. Millions of years ago was also when Shinnok decided to invade Earth and wage war on the Elder Gods for the first time. Many races were wiped out, and Reptile's was nearly wiped out as well, so Raiden decided to send them to another realm to save them, which was Zaterra. But that realm ended up getting invaded by Shao Kahn and the race ended up getting wiped out anyways, except for Reptile.

I think the point of confusion causing issues in this thread is that when most of us read the word "Reptilian" we think, "A reptile" or "Belonging or pertaining to the Reptilia class of animals" you know... the dictionary definitions.

Wheras when this guy says, "Reptilian" he's referring to some freaky wacko conspiracy theorist dinosaur race that crazy people actually believe evolved and existed on earth before humans.

It's established in Trilogy via Khameleon's ending that their race are Raptors that evolved om Earth but were almost pushed to extinction with the war against Shinnok millions of years earlier.

Oh I see. I wonder if that Earth reptiles evolved differently from their Zattera cousins for that long time. Also are Chameleon and Khameleon considered shape shifters ? Because Draconians aka Reptilians can shape in to humans and cover themselves up. I guess Reptile is shifter too.

It's never been established as to what Chameleon is, but Khameleon and Reptile are just Raptors with no shape-shifting abilities. They can only change the colour of their skin and clothing somehow.
