XiahouDun84 already has the MK Rebirth thread, and I didn't wanna go into his thread and post ideas not relevant to his story...So I made a seperate one. The reason I used the title Rebirth, is because its the best title for the next MK so far imo. Simple, and right to the point.

Ok, so this story sorta focuses on Scorpion alot. The intro that I imagined is of a movie sceen, like MKD/DA, but the voice who is talking is Scorpion's, sorta telling the story of MK up to this point. This was to let everyone know where the game is in time and for those who never played MK to give a little info as to why the game is a "rebirth".

---Story---
From legends passed down through my clan, it is told that In the beginning, Mortal Kombat was a noble tournament, designed to draw in Earth’s greatest warriors and crown a champion. But when the Elder Gods allowed warriors from other realms to compete, the tournament began to fall under dark times. A sorcerer from Outworld known as Shang Tsung came to the tournament, along with the Shokan prince Goro. Though many warriors left the competition in fear of the four armed monster, one warrior stayed, viewing Goro as no threat to his title as Grand Champion. The confidence of this warrior, the original Kung Lao, would cost him his life and title as champion.

After many years, Goro remained undefeated. It was at this time that Shang Tsung was granted his request of relocating the tournament to his island, in a secluded part of Earth. Ten tournaments later, Goro still held the title as champion, but this 11th tournament would change the direction of Mortal Kombat forever.

It was on this 11th tournament, that if Shang Tsung succeeded again, would grant him control of the Earth Realm, but a select few warriors were chosen by Earth’s protector and God of Thunder Raiden to stop Shang Tsung. It was Liu Kang who defeated Goro and his master, taking his place as the new champion of Mortal Kombat, and saving the Earth from a would-be Armageddon.

But the end of one potential Armageddon would only set the path for the next. For many years, the rules of Mortal Kombat were broken, leaving Earth to protect itself against invasion from the forces of Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn, fallen Elder God Shinnok, the deadly alliance of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, and the return of Outworld’s ancient ruler, Onaga, the Dragon King. But none of these threats would be as great as the one elemental warrior known as Blaze.

Since the end of the 11th tournament, Blaze foresaw the coming of Armageddon, and chose to pursue a quest of informing the realms. However, his quest was stalled by many interruptions. Eventually, Blaze would make the choice of consuming the fused Kamidogu, taking them from Onaga in an attempt to stop Armageddon. Little did Blaze know that the power held within the Kamidogu would begin to control him, and that he, in an attempt to prevent the Armageddon which he foresaw, would become the very threat that would cause Armageddon. With the Kamidogu fused, the One Being began to reform, using Blaze as a vessel, in an attempt to take control of and combine the realms into one once again. But many warriors’ lust for power, quest for vengeance, and vowed protection of Earth and other realms would result in the destruction of Blaze. The sacrifice to do so, however, would come at a high price, as many great warriors would lose their lives on the battlefield.

I watched as these warriors fell to their deaths, beaten and suffering from the various battles against Blaze and other enemies. Surviving the battle gave me a new purpose: Not to seek rest for my soul, but to find a way to return to mortality.

On my quest, I met the sorcerer Shang Tsung in Outworld. He had lived Armageddon, but was left almost powerless. He would be the one to give me my wish, and return life to me so that I may give up this life of death and fighting. However, I would have to do Shang Tsung a favor in exchange for my life. For one last tournament, my goal was to help Shang Tsung lure new warriors to Outworld, where they would compete in a false tournament of Mortal Kombat. Tsung's plan was to use the fallen warrior's souls to regain his power, and take his seat in place of the fallen Shao Kahn, as the Emperor of Outworld. With a wave of energy, I felt the air refill my lungs for the first time in years, and prepared myself for Mortal Kombat.

Now, if you actually took the time to read all that, which I hope you did, you will see that most of it was history, and the real story behind this game is that Shang Tsung makes a false tournament in Outworld so that he can regain power and become emperor. All of the stuff about Blaze and the One Being using him, is all what I believe to be the story in Armageddon, so don't run and think that its canon, because its just my take on story.

One of my big plans for the next MK game, as you may tell, is to please all the fans who hated and loved Scorpion, at the same time, which is hard to do. Most people who love Scorpion, either like his moves, or his look, or just like him for whatever else reasons. Those who dislike him, basically feel that he is burn out. So, in this game, I redone Scorpion, gave him a new story, changed him from being a Spectre to actually making him living, so that those who feel he is burned out may find some sort of "newness" to him.

Goro won nine tournaments and lost the tenth along with Shang Tsung. He didn't win that one and win ten next tournaments. That one counted as one win for the Emperor. But other than that, it's good, but Scorpion wiuldn't be stupid enough to not see that shang would betray him after winning the throne, like this: Shang gives him lfe then takes it away. Scorpion once again is a roaming corpse with ANOTHER revenge story. Against ANOTHER sorceror. Come on!furious

Shang Tsung couldn't take Scorpion's life away unless he was killed. Also, the story wasn't that Scorpion had to help Shang Tsung to before he got his life back. Shand Tsung restored his life before Scorpion helped him. So during the game, you play as a living Scorpion, as opposed to a spectre like he has been in all of the games.

There were 2 endings I had in mind for Scorpion and how he fares after the tournament. Both act as if this is Scorpion's final game. So either way, his problem is resolved in the end. Here are his 2 possible endings:

(The character Black Tiger, is somewhat of Earth's new Liu Kang. He is more like a cross between Kung Lao and Kenshi though)

--Ending 1--
As Shang Tsung was near victory, Scorpion was near death. As a spectre, exhaustion had not came easy for Scorpion. But with blood flowing through his veins, seemingly endless battles had taken its toll on him.
As the final Kombatant entered Shang Tsung's throne room, Scorpion was given the orders to attack, but instead, the ninja turned on his master and helped Black Tiger to defeat Shang Tsung. The sorcerer had finally been finished, and his soul cast to the Netherrealm for eternity. Scorpion then left Outworld for the last time.

--Ending 2--
As Shang Tsung was near victory, Scorpion was near death. As a spectre, exhaustion had not came easy for Scorpion. But with blood flowing through his veins, seemingly endless battles had taken its toll on him.
As the final Kombatant entered Shang Tsung's throne room, Scorpion was given the orders to attack. Scorpion charged at Black Tiger, unleashing everything the ninja had in him, but it was not enough. Black Tiger was able to easily defeat Scorpion. Shang Tsung consumed his soul.
As the battle between Shang Tsung and Black Tiger comenced, Tsung could feel his own body working against him. It was indeed Scorpion's soul that was beginning to take control over the sorcerer. Scorpion helped open Shang Tsung up for many attacks that would prove fatal. With the souls free from Shang Tsung's control, Scorpion was given his original wish. His soul could finally rest.

Ending 1: Wtf? why did he just turn on the guy who gave him life? Scorpion would go through with his agenda. If Scorpion was dumb enough to ally himself with Shang Tsung, then he isn't smart enough (or random enough) to turn on him in the last second.
Ending 2: Like I said, his life was going to be taken away. So his spirit is at rest, so what? Every fighter who died in armageddon has their soul at rest. For them, there is no more fighting or Rivalry. Anyone who did them wrong is dead. Scorpion has no more revenge stories or life anymore now. Not that he had a life in the other games. Another soul at rest. Black Tiger is the Champion. Wait... BLACK TIGER? Liu Kang and Kung lao aren't as obvious as that name. Come on, give him some orignality! Liu/Lao Kang/Kung. You made him more original than those guys, but not more original from every other fighter's name in everybody's mind! Sorry if i've been hard on you, but nowadays I keep seeing on many different boards so many Armageddon Ideas, that I have to give them hard criticism about it! And if you can't handle a kid, you can't handle nobody.
