It could happen. If he doesn't show up towards the end, I have a feeling he will die in this new timeline. Don't ask me why. Just a feeling.

I honestly wouldn't mind at all if a re-invented Onaga was the villain for MK11...

That said, I don't need Shujinko at all, and wouldn't mind if he was just a cameo in this game to setup the next game.

I could see it working. This game lays out the importance of the amulet and the Kamidogu, all the while teasing what we already know about Onaga behind the scenes. Finally an appearance by Shujinko toward the end solidly sets up the threat we all knew was looming all along. Much like MK9 did for Shinnok/MK4.

Then MK11 wouldn't be a retread of MKD, just as MKX isn't a retread of MK4... BUT it would still take elements and nods from the original timeline and tell a whole new story.

I liked Onaga frankly, I thought he was one of the most formidable and intimidating villains in the series. I'd love to see him get some decent re-invention like so many other characters have in the new timeline. I'd take Shujinko, because I always like to see returning faces, but don't think he's really necessary tbh.

Better than what we have for DLC.

Infact, it would be nice to have some 3D era characters back for the inevitable MKXI.... But I smell another trilogy type game coming, or another reboot.



The franchise has one more shot: either do a versatile roster (the current one is not) or create newbies on par with DA and D. Otherwise the franchise can rot for all I care. They are really moving back into the rut MK needs to get out of.

Y'know not everyone has to like ALL of the new characters, I'm quite sure Team Kotal, as well as Cassie are gathering a pretty significant fanbase. There will always be characters who are favored over others, doesn't mean that NRS will fade into obscurity.

Ummm Chrome we're not anywhere near that point yet. And I thought as far as you were concerned MK could rot, since MK1? Then again you have seemed strangely upbeat this past year.

A younger reimagined shujinko could have been added to the core for as a main protagonist, one that had an original move set and such.

Joking aside, shujinko is perhaps the most important character in MK lore. Was it not for his quest, the MK universe would not be the same.

He deserves at least a cameo and it should be explained what happened with the komidogu.

MKX Goes more far away in time thab MKD.
Even in armageddon we didnt get an Old Kung Lao or an Old Johnny or Sonya.
So a Shujinko would be ideal to kanow whats happened in this time line.

I still like MKDA and D. And I can admire the marvel that is the composition of the game, even if story mode and generally the story of MK will turn out to be shit. I will not be spoonfed shit and call it cuisine, just because I am or was a fan.

Even if this game would have the full MK4 and Trilogy cast and noone new, I would still recommend it because it is a good fighting game. I would still not bother with it, because theone thing I like about MK is slowly going away.
