Should there be multiple sub-bosses again, including the guest?

Ever since MKA, we've had more than one sub-boss, and which one we fought has always been random. Should that be the case again?

I believe that certain non-MK characters, like Jason Voorhees, the Predator or the Spawn villain Violator, would work better as bosses or semi-bosses (stronger than most of the roster, weaker than bosses) than regular characters.

Obviously, guest sub-bosses should be playable, as should MK ones, which is probably already the case with Goro.

Which guest characters do you think would work as sub-bosses? After those three I mentioned, I'd say Kusaregedo from the Samurai Shodown games, Eyedol or Gargos from the Killer Instinct series, but the first one's not that likely, and the other two would be X-Bone exclusive thus already deconfirmed.

No to the guest; discussions about how/whether to implement guests have been done to death so I'm not going to go into that here.

I do miss the days though where you had a small gauntlet of bosses to run through at the end of an arcade mode, not just a sub (sometimes) and a main. I think MKII got it right in that respect with Shang, Kintaro, and Kahn, with increasing levels of threat. Three's a good number.

I know these are unlikely but I think Nemeses, Tyrant, or pre-blob William Birkin from Resident Evil could make good guest sub-bosses if they were going to do guest sub-bosses.

Yes to multiple subbosses, no to guest subboss.

I want a centaur subboss. I felt cheated that the mechanics of Motaro couldn't work for MK9. Hopefully they've been working on that. So I want Motaro or maybe his revenge-seeking centaur brother.

I'd also like to c that skeletal demon Shinnok summons for some of his moves. That could be HIS SubBoss if we do get to c the MK4 story play out.

I get the feeling that we're going to see multiple bosses/sub-bosses this time around. I feel like there should be a boss at the end of the Nether Realm War, the Outworld Civil War, and whatever other story arcs are present.

A guest sub-boss? Sure, that's a great idea if you're just trying to make everybody mad.

Only the main boss and one sub-boss. Which the main boss will be a fun returning character and the sub-boss should be a new character.

Don't forget Ustanak from RE6. But your suggestions are good, Nemesis, especially. Other characters that could work as sub-bosses are the Marvel villains Blackheart, Venom and Carnage, or Wolverine with an insane healing factor that the playable version either wouldn't have, or only in a much more limited capacity.

But guest sub-bosses or not, here are features regarding multiple sub-bosses that should be implemented: one, you should never know in advance which sub-bosses you're gonna fight, and two, there should sometimes be endurance boss fights like in MKT and CSZ's fight against both Goro and Kintaro.

Yes to multiple bosses, like one of the other replies said, mk2 got it perfect. No to guest sub bosses.

A guest character as subboss, you mean in the storymode? because that's a big no.

I miss the days of Street Fighter 2 where you had to fight 3 sub-bosses (Balrog, Vega, and Sagat) to get to M. Bison. Fun times.

So I'm all for multiple sub-bosses, each having an increasing level of difficulty.

Because some non-MK characters, like the rumored Predator and Jason Voorhees, would be better as sub-bosses, or semi-bosses you fight before the sub-boss, similar to Shang Tsung in MK2/9.

The AI-controlled version of Jason could be the classic undead one, who barely flinches from attacks, and who walks slowly. The undead Jason should be an unlockable variant only for single-player and only playable on the hardest difficulty settings.

I didn't like the multiple bosses at all in MK9 actually. I think Goro and Kintaro were not at all imposing or hard to beat and they seemed very unimportant and interchangeable when reaching them on the tag ladder. Giving a singular character the spotlight and having them be focused on in terms of difficulty would make them more memorable, and I REALLY hope the sub-boss is not Goro again but hopefully someone new.

If the main boss is a "fun returning character", then I hope at least the sub-boss is brand new. I just don't really know personally how to top the ones that have already been done.

And no to a guest character IMO.
