Should Taven and Daegon return?

How do you guys feel about Taven and Daegon? I personally hate Taven. I wasn't a big fan of Daegon either but I think he has more potential than Taven. Both had bland designs and awful special moves. I can maybe see Daegon returning since the Red Dragon returned. It would be interesting to see what Daegon was doing before Taven awoke. I wouldn't mind seeing Daegon but he would need a lot of work. Taven is awful and I never want to see him again. He was so boring. Worse than Shujinko.

I could see them coming back but not as big story mode characters maybe one chapter that is it. I like them but the game the way it is doesn't have to have them in the whole game but I do like to see what they do with them if they return.wink

Yes they should return... in story mode only to be seen brutally killed and wiped from all existence. Their very souls should be obliterated so no one, not even Ed Boon himself, can resurrect them.

Taven and Daegon were created as nothing more than a plot device to move along the events of Armageddon. Since this story line is moving in a different direction and avoiding that story arc, I don't really see a need for either one of them.

Personally, I think they should stay asleep. They can be mentioned as Edenian deities...maybe a Daegon worshiping cult eventually developed into the Red Dragon, but yeah...they're not necessary this time around.

I'd like their return. They are the main characters that decided the fate of Armageddon back in the old timeline and I think that shouldn't be forgotten in the new timeline. Maybe Daegon can be playable, but I can't think of any variations he could use given his lack of development. I'd also like the return of the deadpan snarker, but naïve Taven. I'd like him to interact more with the characters than he was given in Konquest possibly become the Protector God of Edenia once that realm is restored.

If Shinnok is to be in MKX, they could easily include Daegon as well. From what we saw in Armageddon, they both know each other.

Yes, I would like them. They should at least make a cameo appearance since they're kinda ... very important.

Firstly, it wouldn't make sense to have one and not the other. I don't really care for either of them, but I think their story needs to be addressed at some point even if its only a mention by some of the characters or cameos.

Unless the MK9 timeline is actually an alternate universe where they just don't exist it wouldn't make sense for them to just be completely ignored.

I really like Taven and Daegon. They're in my top 5 MK characters of all time. I hope they are playable in MKX.

But, even if they're not, I trust in the NRS team. They know better what to do as they've been providing exiting games for decades and have not failed our expectations (much).

Taven can remain asleep sure, but Daegon obviously isn't just going to be chilling around drinking Corona on the beach, unless he wasn't awakened in this timeline or is killed before he does anything notable, him not making even a cameo or getting a mention would not make much sense lol

Well, you could see Daegon fighting Reiko, Frost or Kenshi in the background of The Pit from time to time (MK2011, of course). It may be a shitty cameo, but at least it shows that NRS is still aware of his existence.

Yes they are grin Daegon is to much like Kratos and Taven looks like Jarek a bit from MK4 lol.

I'd even accept Blaze or Onaga over them two crappies.

That's another reason why I think they need to be addressed, maybe it was a non-canon cameo but I don't think NRS would put him in the back fighting other characters if he isn't going to appear at all in this timeline, maybe not in X, but sometime in the future of this timeline I think he will be seen or mentioned again.

Well tbh, I'd burn the lot for Chameleon v.v, but ONLY Chameleon.

I wouldn't mind seeing Taven and Daegon though. I still think we'll need them at some point to help perpetuate DA-Armageddon's plot points.
