I believe nrs whenever they decided to make new characters for the series I think they should use characters from war gods or Bio f.r.e.a.k.s or other mk ripoffs kinda like how street fighter uses characters from the now dead final fight series like Guy and Cody or posion even if people hated the games some of the characters had interesting storys and looks with fan that I seen on YouTube I think its a good idea to not let good characters die and it would make it a bit easier for the developers and such

Maybe for DLC... but not in the official story mode, like with Kratos

The thing about Cody/Guy/Poison is "Final Fight" sorta fits into the whole Street Fighter universe, whereas War Gods and BIO Freaks just doesn't seem right

I would love to see NRS just make some NEW characters

Yes, they should make new characters. I've got fully developed ideas for about a over 40 characters that would have a least 9 specialty moves that are unique to the Mortal Kombat universe. They would have their own fatalties, X-Ray's, intros, winning poses, mid-match taunts, backstories, traditional looks, fighting styles and combos/techniques.

New characters based off of old characters from old Midway games? Did I read that right? I'm not sure NRS would want to do that. NRS didn't create War Gods or Bio Freaks, so why would they want to rip off characters from old Midway games that they had nothing to do with?

Now if you're asking whether it'd be cool to see NRS take a few ACTUAL characters from dead fighting games, getting permission from whoever owns the trademarks etc?

I'd say sure, great, as long as they're DLC only and don't have anything to do with the story. I'd love to see some characters that might actually fit in to the MK world from series like Killer Instinct, Eternal Champions, Weaponlord, Ehrgeiz, Toshinden, Mace: The Dark Age and a whole slew of other forgotten fighters.

Of course, that's also assuming that the next MK game gets a lot more than 4 DLC characters. But yeah, I think it'd be cool to see Jago, Xavier, Sofia and others live on in the MK world.

I'm not a big fan of guest chars. But for the sake of seing a KI or Mace the dark age character revived one day? Hell yeah.

Since they want to try some new things though, maybe they should just revive one of the 2 games.

So does anyone think NRS will remake one of the old midway fighting games? I think it is possible assuming that MK stays 2d then you'd think NRS would want to make a 3d game at some point.

I just got back into Mace the dark age and I feel like it would be perfect for a revival, it still has a pretty large fanbase, and with Midway gone I think the rights are pretty much up for grabs.

^^ The revival of Mace The dark age would be awesome. I had great times with that game. One of my favs of the 3d era yet.

It'd be much better if Warner Bros. just got another team to develop some new games for some old Midway IP.

I'd really rather not have third party characters shoved into a game where they don't belong. Especially when Mortal Kombat already has about 30 characters they have yet to show off in this generation.
