Shinnok is obviously the final boss

Clever choice of words on Ed's part. "Fun, surprise returning character."
Yeah, maybe AFTER you play through story mode and see him get trapped in the amulet, then he somehow escapes again and takes his true form.
SURPRISE!
Know what? I wouldn't even be mad. Bring it, Shinnok.

I think this would be kinda a lame twist tho. Like what kind of a twist would it be if the guy most likely to be the big bad...turns out to be the big bad!!11? That said Shinnok would make a badass boss and for sure deserves that status. My little fanboy heart would be broken if he wasn't playable tho.
Overall, OP has no idea who the big bad is just like the rest of us but pretends to laugh at those who speculate. So looks like OP is a confirmed douche. Not sure what else he was hoping to accomplish?

While I can understand how some wouldn't like the idea...I'd accept it. Mainly because Shinnok is one of the main characters I've always wanted to receive his due spotlight. Probably more than I should, but MK4's storyline is actually one of my favorites...even if nothing else about that game really stuck with ya.
Like Fujin, Shinnok also, unfortunately, had his primed up revamp in Armageddon. Which is nothing to brag about. So it's been a long time coming. And I can't believe me and Raiden were actually on the same page -

Yo, Elder Gods. We done locked this bitch up TWICE now. New game plan here. It needs to END.
I just didn't understand the redundancy.
Once he's released for the SECOND time - kills Raiden, absorbs the power of the Kamidogu,
then we might be lucky enough to get an [ultra] revamp of this: Yo, Elder Gods. We done locked this bitch up TWICE now. New game plan here. It needs to END.

Another preference for big bad would have been Onaga. But at this point, I don't think much has foreshadowed to this...yet.

Could it be Jason V?He IS a boss lol
Ed likes to troll but I doubt he put THAT much thought into the comment of "Surprise returning character" for the boss. Obviously he said what he meant, he wasn't using reverse psychology to make us think it's someone other than Shinnok and then be surprised when it is. That would be lame. So it's not Shinnok, okay? People think waaaay too hard with this stuff.

Every bio that was released says "After Shinnok's defeat" meaning I think the game starts out with him dieing and it's all about his amulet control.
Unless he breaks back out at the end, I doubt he's going to be the boss.

You know back before MKX was given it's first trailer and I was thinking this game was going to be a direct more simplistic sequel to MK2011 which would be a retelling of MK4 with obvious changes.
I thought I would have been a great idea to have Shinnok as a two parter final boss. One where you fight the standard form which you can play as yourself then once you finish that form he then turns into his true corrupt by the Netherrealm Elder God form. And thus the true final boss fight begins.

I went to congratulate you for being right, because not many people are good guessers...
Then I read your OP...
Then I read how no one attacked you...
Now I think you're lame

That reminded me of DashieXP's Raiden voice.
Ok. You were right. But predicting the final boss of MK4 to be the final boss of the game loosely based on MK4 events doesn't make you Nostradamus. That's who everyone thought was gonna be the boss after MK9. I personally thought this game was going to be bolder than that but it's really a bunch of recycled stuff.

Shinnok in his demon form back was one of the people I thought the big bad would be when the game was announced

That makes me Nostradamus, or at least a modern day more attractive one
