Shao Kahns soul fused in Ermac ?
Shao Kahns soul fused in Ermac ?
In the intro dialogue, Scorpion says that he senses Shao Kahn, we know Shao Kahn was done with in the end of MK9. But could he somehow have escaped to Ermac body and Ermac now would play silently under whatever force to re-enthrone Shao Kahn ?
What if the final boss, is indeed Ermac, just a en enhanced version of him with Shao Kahn taking control ?

Maybe Kahn infused a part of his soul in Ermac when he created him? As a failsafe in case he was killed?

I would have done the same thing if I had that ability split my soul apart.

Well he created Ermac and when he died it makes some, sense that his soul magic bonded to Ermac who is a, fusion of souls anyway

This bit of news has left me very excited. At least his soul is part of the game which means there are certain options for him. I'm hoping Ermac gets killed in story mode and Kahn's soul manages to escape.

So inside Ermac, it's a Jerrod vs Shao Kahn Round 2? LOL

Kotal Kahn said to Ermac: I thought we were allies?
Maybe Ermac is the lost ally in the comic? I mean , not dead, just lost to mileena as he betrayed Kotal after Shao Kahn took over his body and wants to support his daughter again.
I can see Ermac become this chaotic multi-moods type of guy, Jerrod and Kahn fighting within him and taking over at moments.

I think he will be a central part and not a punchbag this time around, His face is shown this time around, maybe more than just Kahn being in there, one of the old fallen warrior is dominating the body now ?
I'm really liking this idea of both Jerrod and Kahn inhabiting the same body...along with a couple hundred other fallen warriors was well. It leaves so many possibilities open for this story line! Which side is he on? How will it all play out? I need answers, now!

I was kinda hoping that they'd have Jerrod be the dominant soul now and that Ermac, with variations, would have a Jerrod variation and now a Khan variation as well (to go along with a third traditional Ermac variation). Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity.
Of course, that's asking an awful lot of the devs. Still, I'm hoping that there's this Jerrod / Shao Khan battle for control of Ermac that plays out in the story. That could be really cool.

Ive never liked the idea of any soul being dominant with Ermac. Ermac is his own "person,"that carries or "harbors" all these souls. The souls fuel and strengthen him, and he can likely commune with them in some way, but his mind/heart is his own.
But what do I know? Haha

This is the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard the dialogue yesterday. Kahn is no fool, I don't think it would be out of character for him to do something like that just in case.

Real talk, though, I'm really hoping that Ermac is just speaking metaphorically.
Note the "(we remember) all since our creation" line. That kind of implies that the collective that is Ermac has no memories of the individual souls that comprise it. He wasn't necessarily mind-controlled into serving Kahn, he was simply created to be a servant from day one. Like, that's his natural state.
So of course Kahn's "presence" is still in Ermac - he created the thing, and was the only master it knew since its existence began. In a sense, there is no "breaking free" of Kahn's will just because he's dead, because being Kahn's enforcer is the only thing Ermac knows.
Now, that doesn't mean that Ermac can't learn to tap into the individual memories of the souls that are part of him and, in doing so, become the maker of his own destiny. There's a lot of potential there.
I'm just slightly wary of the idea of one of those souls seizing control and dominating the entire collective, like in his MK9 ending.
Don't get me wrong, the Jerrod thing was an awesome little bit of trivia that makes such perfect sense in retrospect that I'm actually kinda mad that I didn't think of it myself. But that's all it should be - a cool little insight into the lore. Multiplicity is what makes him unique, and if you take that away by allowing the possibility of one dominant soul to emerge and assume direct control over the collective, this has character ruination potential. Nobody fucking wants Jerrod - people want Ermac.
And this goes double for Kahn. Fuck Kahn. Let him stay dead.

Kahn's death did NOT prevent Armageddon. Kahn's death just prevented HIM from killing Blaze and winning the prize.

Scorpion says he can sense Shao Kahn inside of Ermac (and also says he'll remove him after Ermac says "our creator is part of us"). With at least two characters talking about this, and Sub-Zero also saying something about Shao Kahn's death not being the end in the one intro they spoke over, I don't think it's meant to be metaphorical!
Well, if you specifically define "Armageddon" as the instance of Kahn obtaining Blaze's power and using it to fuck up the entire multiverse, then yes, Armageddon was most certainly prevented.
Shujinko and Blaze are still out there, though, and they better address that somehow. My brain is still blocking certain aspects of MKA out of my memory, but as I vaguely recall, relatively few of the endings resulted in the world getting fucked up. The characters usually just use the power for their own selfish means, on a much less global scale and sometimes, in fairly beneficial ways.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is that Blaze's power per se doesn't have to directly result in Armageddon. Maybe it'll go to someone worthy of it this time. Someone who could replace Argus as the god-protector of Edenia.
...How about Kitana? Wouldn't that be some shit?
You know what?
You're probably right.

Scorpion probably rips Kahn's soul out of Ermac in the end, which is hinted in his intro conversation.

I rip him out of you
