No. I want both in playable, but that would be insane in a good way.

I just find this whole concept of the gods having souls as weird. It just doesn't seem right. I mean aren't they celestial beings? shouldn't there be nothing under the surface seeing how it's all there already?

I don't know I can't quite put my finger on it or properly articulate what I mean.

My theory was back when i thought this game would be MK4 but actually doing the story well this time with a darker much more radical twist.

I thought that Shang would pretty much be rising to power while in the Netherrealm what with having access to all the souls he could ever want.

I figured it was time for him to be a major player in the antagonist ring again. Seems I was wrong. Silly me. Just thought they would want to do him justice again after he was under cut so badly in the last game.

If he is to return (hope he does), he needs to take revenge on Quan Chi for what he did in MK2011, not necessarily by killing him. Remember how in MKC Quan Chi and Shang Tsung were trying to kill Kung Lao, and when Shang tried to backstab him he told Siro and Taja what he was doing and ended up screwing his plans. Maybe he somehow helps the fallen heroes to recover their physical form? (In other words, QC loses control over them)

I want to see him staying incognito as a bum or something rebuilding his powers. A small part in the story as an old beaten man. He came 2nd only to shao Kahn in the soul sucking area. To lose that would suck imo.

My theory is that he was revived by the Shadow Priests to act as their leader. Using the masked guards and alongside his magical priests, he opens a portal to retake Outworld or the Netherrealm.

Idk, all those souls that Shang Tsung possessed over the years kept him alive and sustained him. Kahn sucked the life out of Tsung and gave it Sindel, until she was suicide bombed by Nightwolf. The way Tsung was crapped on in MK9, not sure if he will play a role in MKX. I'd love to see him back, but NRS will have to come up with something to explain his return. I'm still curious how they'll explain Kitana and Kung Lao's untwisted head returning not appearing as revenants like in MK9.

Yeah that would be a hell of a twist considering how Shang Tsung could get beat by a Earth-mortal named Liu Kang, serve as Shao Kahn's bitch for more then ten tournaments, but somehow grow the balls to kill a elder god????
