Shang Tsung & his life , could it be explained in MKX

Originally a Earthrealm warrior why is it not explained why he works for Shao Khan , how did he get to outworld and why would he betray his home ? With his possible while slim chance to be in Mortal Kombat X , do you think this is a chance to expand on the character beyond his death and give the character depth to be used in future Mortal Kombat games ?

I appreciate the response but thats not completely what I had in mind , I could be asking to much but I was curious as in the scenario that set him on this path rather then the basic idea he was a bad dood that was always a dood that like doing bad dood stuff , I mean for gods sakes they made us see Shao khan as a guy who wanted a family albeit in a twisted way in the original mk . But going forward shang tsung character is getting shallower with each installation the same colors being painted and I fear if his character isn't expanded on in MKX or just in the comics we'll just be seeing a guy who's just there and may sadly get the same treatment as reptile with his backstory just being a after thought , which I think is unfair for a character who was a boss & has such a fan following that is even present today .
This is why we need a new comic title, MortaL Kombat Origins. Shinnok and the Elder Gods should be first, then I want to see the origin of ShaoKahn. Then the defeat of Jerrod and Edenia, the creation of the tournament, then ShangTsung ;)

I would definitely pay good money for that. Even more if it was a well animated series written by Kittelsen.

Shang tsung is basically a demon that resides in the earth realm that serves shao kahn to fulfill his evil and selfish desires. he learns the black art of absorbing the souls from shao kahn and uses this power to absorb the souls of fallen warriors to become powerful by gaining all of their knowledge and power. Thus, he sorts of cheats his way into getting powerful by stealing powerful souls, and not through discipline or training.

Shang Tsungs so unique did he fight in the Mortal Kombat Tournament before Shao Khan , I mean yea hes a demon but come on you know theres more to him , a Mortal Kombat orgins would be good , I mean come on if he doesnt do something different and by himself hes goin to be a joke if hes not already (looking at joker fatality & being put in sindel to do something he shouldve done). Im just asking the mko community how do you think they could expand on his story .

here I thought that Demon concept for Shang Tsung was not canon. That he is just an human Sorceror.

There is not much we have to know about him. He is a sorcerer who steals souls that is all we need to know about him in my opinion.
