Ok, one of the best things about turning on a Mortal Kombat game for the first time is not only seeing the amazing select screen full of your favorite fighters, but also hearing the kick-ass theme that helps pump you up. Just about every MK game has had great distinct select screens except for two.

MKVSDC's select screen music was boring and hardly exciting. MK9's was not at all memorable and sounded more like a template for the real theme. I'm hoping MKX fixes this. Big time.

They should definetly re-create the MK4 select screen music. By far my favorite all time.

For Armageddon I thought it would be cool if they had used all previous 6 select screen themes for that particular game. Meaning each time you went back to the select screen you might have the MK2 theme, then if you went back another time you would have the MK4 theme. I thought that would have been interesting.

Maybe they could do something similar here, but this time it'll be new remixed versions of some of the past themes.

The first three games' select screens bring back the fondest memories. I also liked Deception's theme. After seeing the reveal trailer, I am thinking maybe they could go in a darker direction with the music, based off the atmosphere of the trailer. Something rhythmic and dark, not static or ambient though.

I can dig that Riyakou! You need to get a job at Neatherealm, definitely! That's already leaps and bounds better than the MKVSDC & MK9 themes.

Something along the lines of MK4 and MKD would be amazing. They both sound quite industrial and dark.

Dan Forden just needs to get back in charge of the composition.

They've been doing far too much contracting. I wish Dan Forden and Rich Carle would just stick to the music.

It should be like Tekken Tag 2 and Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate where you can change the music on the stages, menus, selection screen to your own liking. That would be cool

Yes <3 That's what I loved about Tekken Tag 2. Actually, I think there's a few notes Neatherealm Studios could take from Tekken Tag 2. Being able to play around with the game's music, giving players the ability of creating new looks and costumes for the characters ect would all be nice additions to the series.

I would love to see something more along the lines of Deception when it comes to Select Screen music.

Really, that whole game managed to be very creepy and unsettling while also being goofy and whimsical. But the select screen music was good.
