I loved the Story mode for MK9.
It was gripping, like watching a crazy Kung Fu movie where you actually got to play out the fight scenes. Not to mention that the storyline was amazing.
I agree that MK: Deception's Konquest mode was brilliant, but to me, in hindsight, it seemed like a lot of needless walking around for hours to find secrets and hidden characters. That said, I still rinsed a pretty epic portion of my life away on that game in Konquest.

I also think that if Konquest were to return, it should be like MKDA.

Continuing the trade, I would like for it to come back but it has to be MKDA's
I liked Deception's the best, roaming around getting a first hand feel of the realms.
Deadly Alliance's won on story info though (depth of styles/background interested me), and Shaolin Monks was the most entertaining to play.
I'd want it to play similar to Shaolin Monks, have the scenery and vast exploring of Deception's and the story info level of Deadly Alliance's.

I like deception's better
armageedon's was ok but deadly alliances sucked

I hated Konquest... it was super lame! the story was crap and strung toghether very vaguely... vanishing moratos and whatnot dont really add anything... its a bunch of running and little bits of character trivia.
I think they did a fantastic job with Story Mode, especially for a MK game where u dont really ever know whats canon and what isnt. I'm sure it'll be back since critics and fans raved about it.

um wtf is the real difference between konquest and story mode its just named different like in mkd they could of name konquest mode story mode and there would be no real difference like really
I agree. I want konquest back (MK:D, MK:A). The MKDC style story mode sucks. If it's just fight, cut scene, fight, cut scene that just gets boring. Why have it at all then cause theres plenty of fighting already in arcade mode or challenge tower. After hours of one-on-one fighting I get bored and like a change of pace to a more adventure style game, completing missions and such. Either they need to bring back konquest or at least resume work on the "cancelled" sequel to shaolin monks. Most of my old fighting games that were strictly tournament style fighting games, MK 1-3 included, I haven't touched in years because there is no more replay value for me except for nostalgia. But I go back and play konquest in MK:D MK:A at least once a year.

i so agree with you! I wish the mk D style conquest was back.. however id like the mksm engine too.. but if we had that then i doubt they can use the mk10 engine at the same time :(

I know this is a little to much but have a story mode and konquest and konquest for all the fighters cause instead like the crappy shinjinko have Sub Zero, liu Kang, Reptile, all of those guys.

I personally don't care for Konquest mode. I don't get why everyone totes how interesting it was to walk around the realms. They were flat and boring. The whole mode was a reflection of the lack of focus NRS(midway chicago) had back in the ps2/xbox trilogy.
Say what you will about Story mode, but at least I don't have to run around mindlessly for 20 minutes looking for my next "sparring" match. Konquest was just a bad action/rpg, and the story elements weren't anything that couldn't have been said in 30 seconds of intro video.

I say a single or jump in, jump out multi-player version of Shaolin Monks kinda like what Lego star wars had, because MK9 story was bull seeing as how we couldn't really change anything or do anything besides fight which did nothing to save the group from Sindel, Deception was abunch of walking thats takes roughly 9 hours to fully complete, DA was far too much info not enough action seeing as how info could just be put into character bios, and MKA was pretty disappointing seeing as how small it was.
