Scorpion has had enough time in MK. He's a stale character with nothing but a boring story. MKD was a lame stall attempt with his story. Let him have his revenge and be done with that useless story already.

Different topics noob. You have to pay attention to what your doing and read the page to make sure there is no threads like the one you want to create. You should read the FAQs page so you know the law of the land. But yeah I think his story is getting stale as much as it pains me say that but Boon has sayed that Scorpion is one of his favorite characters so its unlikely he will sit out any Mortal Kombats in the future. But they should bring back Sony Blade.

Scorpion is the most precious gem in mortal kombat, how can you all say that about him? you all know he is and always will be the most badass Ninja of them all. Scorpion is not worthless, his story got revamped in deception and it should build upon that instead of the "getting revenge on subzero for murdering his clan and family" story... he is THE elder god's champion! he will be much stronger and faster in mk7, you'll see...

Why get rid off Scorpion when there are characters that are really poor that need gettin rid of. Scorpion is a legendery character and nobody could replace him. He has still got lots of excitement in him, in MK7 he could be made into a great character, just if they do it properly.

Scorpion was never original. Almost all of his looks and his story is blatantly found in comics, novels, video and computer games and storytelling. (Scorpion = 1992 Spawn+American ninja movies portraying them as stealth warriors+Soulrider, or whatever is the name of the hellborn skull headed comias figure, forgot his name though+some background on japanese clothing, having slightly modified with the loincloth hanging down.)

All characters have a certain time before they wear old and the plotline becomes too lengthy to be considered good and coherent. It just becomes
"enlamed" and that is what happened to Scorpion.

Either change him completely from his previous incarnation of the revenge bent specter, and have him as an agent of the elder gods with completely different agendas, or put him to rest (saadly never gonna happen).

Of course Scorpion just happens to have simular traits of other characters. But not enough to lack originality.
I'm pretty sure that Ed Boon wasn't thinking about Ghost Rider when this idea spark.

Soul Edge/Inferno from SoulBlade/Soul Calibur is another character that just happens to be a flamming skull character.

Then we can consider that flaming skulls are now a trend in fighting games to an extent. Very well, but Scorpion is enough of a ripoff that anything else. He doesn't have similar traits, he is a blatant reproduction of spawn almost in every sense now (hell+revenge+torment+get the bad guy through any means and any one).

Spear move? You would wonder, but there has been enough rope+grapp-le and pull moves in other games before MK. So thats not quite original, though I think Boon hasn't copied that for the better part.

Scorpion is stale, anyone who says that his 5 game revenge story is good and poductive is in confrontation of general sense, and especialy after MK4 Scorpion has lost his credibility for me and a lot other players. IF his current agent of the elders plotline is refreshing enough, he might be something, but Boon will notice that people will abandon Scorpion in the future.. thats my prediction.

I think Scorpion was a great character in MKD. He looked great and had some good moves. He should never be got rid off, he is Boons favourite character so i dont think hes going to suddenly get rid off him. Saying that you never no what they're going to do.

I'm okay with certain characters like Scorpion taking a time out. But to drop them because they don't have a strong inpact in the story is a no! no!

Unfortunately, Scorpion's storyline is very weak since he's basically been after someone in all of the main games. In MK1 - MK4, he's been after Sub-Zero. In MKDA, he's been after Quan Chi. In MKD, Scorpion is after Onaga. With Noob Saibot being the older Sub-Zero, there is potential for Scorpion's storyline to have something more to it, but will the storywriters ever have Scorpion and Noob Saibot actually come across sometime in the near future?
