Perfect Legend points out a new run ability that is being shown off in the latest trailer
MK3 has always been my favorite game in the series. Partly due to the faster gameplay and the run button. If MKX is bringing back the run button, I'm officially hyped for this game.

It's not a button, but yeah it's been known to be back since the E3 reveal actually. Pretty exciting. I felt MK9 lacked it.

This is the first I've actually heard if it. Is it a replacement for the double dash mechanic from MK9 then, since there won't be any button for it?

My understanding is that it's like an augmentation, an EX version of the dash. I could be very wrong though.

Dashing is still around, but you can't cancel your dashes with normals or block anymore. Sucks, cause my favorite part of MK9's gameplay was the dash conversions.
That said, I'm pretty sure you can run cancel dashes now.

I don't really understand how run is being incorporated here if there is no run button? How will it work?

Just found this older breakdown video from Maximillian explaining it: MKX E3 breakdown
From Max's explanation you run by double dash + meter burn.

I see! So there is a run meter again like in UMK3/Trilogy? Is that what the little circular symbols beneath the life bars toward the middle of the screen are?
Or do you have to use a bar from your EX meter?

Dash, Dash+Block is what you have to do to run. Yes, it uses part of the Ex meter.

Run actually doesn't use the same meter as your enhanced specials. I believe it comes from the stamina meter.

Yeah this has been known since the game was announced. The run is connected to the new Stamina bar beneath the Healthbar. The circular "meter" beneath the health just shows the number of rounds you have won during the match.

The stamina bar is also connected to dashes and back dashes, and I believe background interactions.
This keeps people from abusing dash and run ect.
