Don't do that to yourselves guys. This version will cheapen the experience. If you can't afford a current gen system now. Then just wait it out. By time you can the complete edition will probably be out and you'll get much more bang for your buck and it will be cheaper than the first edition upon release.

Cuz ain't no body got no money for a system that's just slightly better. Seriously what does the PS4 and Xbox ONE have that I should care about that the last gen doesn'? I asked a guy at gamestop yesterday and he's all like, "Oh, social network this and that!" Social network? Great, but I have a laptop And I don't play much online anyway.

I don't hate new gen, I just don't see the point.

Its more than slighty better.

I do not make a fortune working my tails off, and I am pretty happy with my 360. Heck, I even have 2 Fight Sticks that I have gotten by buying 2 special edition MK9 before, and I heard that is going to be useless if I get the new gen. Too much of a loss if I do, since I LOVE those sticks that are far more comfortable for me than the starndard controler, and gamestop told me they will only credit me $25 for 360. No way.

I am sticking with my 360 for another year or so, so.... 360 version will be the game for me, no matter how bad that is.

Using the i can't afford it excuse is bad imo. Mkx was announced what like 9 months ago. You could have saved 50 dollars a month by now and already had been at 350. The ps4 was announced almost two years ago. If you saved 20 dollars since it was announced you would have enough to get it. Just say you dont think its worth it Because if you really really wanted it you could have saved. you must not be a serious gamer and just an mk fan.
will get it probably for xbox one since I kind of want to play the new Killer Instinct as well I am just waiting for a price drop to perhaps/maybe happen since MKX is my main motivation for buying a new system I am in zero rush to buy a next gen console until it releases so hopefully a sale or bundle deal will happen.

When the PS3/360 came out I made the mistake of waiting forever to get one, and I had a feeling that a lot of the games I like were going to be next gen only once the PS4 came out so I went and bought a PS4 last April just to have for when the games I like come out and lucky me MKX was announced shortly after so im definitely getting it for PS4.

PS3 it will be for me and possibly PC down the line as well.

There are many other priorities for me to spend my money on than a next gen console and I don't play games that much these days anyway.

Being unable to afford something is not an "excuse" mate, it's a fact of life. For some people, buying a video game system with somewhat prettier graphics than the one you have is not worth the cost of being $50 hungrier every month for the better part of a year. The new gen's graphics look like complete shit when you don't have electricity to run the system.

The whole reason the last generation is still kicking after the PS4/XBO have been out for a whole year is that a lot of people either can't afford to upgrade or don't see the value in upgrading. MKX would have lost a hell of a lot of buyers had they gone new-gen only.

I knew there were going to appear, the people who just can't mind their own business and can't help to bash the old gen (as if its graphics are unwatchable) and tell others what they should do with their money, not everyone has money to buy everything they want all the time, how hard is to empathize or even understand? this thread is for people who are going to buy it for the old gen not if they should buy it. Some people like me, don't see the need to buy a whole new system for just one game. Leave us be.

You could even save 10 or 20. Even 5. Its also tax time. You could have sold your old console and games on ebay for half a ps4's price and added your saved money to it. Also the collectors edition of mkx for current gen are sold out which means many mk fans have next gen. I doubt they would lose alot of money going next gen only. Also most people saying its not worth it most likely cant afford it and dont want to sound broke or anything.

Thank you for clarifying that. So you're an mk fan and not a game fan. If you're simply buying a system just to play mk you might as well play it on pc. Mk is not the only game on next gen and is not the only reason to get next gen. I was getting a ps4 whether mk was on it or not. Plenty of other games and reasons to buy a next gen console.

Know this. I have a wife and a family to take care of, and with all the bills I have to pay, on my small paycheck, I just don't have room to spend several hundred dollars for a new system. What I have, the used 360 I bought for around 90 bucks around 2 years ago(I think) over on E-bay is still working like new, and since I am not going to say goodbye to my investment I made on 2011 for the MK9 fight stick and what not, I am not moving on to the next gen for another year or two. when you have electric bills, house mortgauge, car payments and insurance what not, that I have to pay, plus a usual grocerys, You really can't afford to shell out another few hundred dollars on a long run. If MKX de-confirms the old gen, if that ever happens, then that's it, I am bailing out on this game. Which will be shame, since I've been a fan of the series from the very first one at the Arcade, and it will be a big miss if I don't get it, but since there is an option for the 360, I can continue on. Sure, I can save that $50.00 as you said, but making a living on my tiny paycheck, that $50 goes out quickly. It's just too much impact. The game itself $60 I can manage, but if it goes upward of few hundred dollars, I cannot muster. I will have to wait until next next gen comes out, and wait for it to go down in price and get a well-used one(which my 360 was).

I don't care if the graphics and load time is worse, but I think it shouldn't be worse than MK9, which was OK. I've also lived through PS1 and PS2 days, so I don't mind the load time either. So... You can label me arrogant, old-fashioned, or stubborn or what ever, but I am keeping this 360 as long as it works.

I don't particularly care if the PS3 version's graphics are inferior to the PS4 version's, or if the loading times are a little longer, as long as it doesn't lack any content such as characters or backgrounds.

I understand you. You got a 360 just two years ago. I see your just a big mk fan and not a big gamer. But anyways i see where you are coming from. I remember one time when i was in high school and i wanted a pair of jordans but i had boughten so many that my dad ir mom wouldnt give me money for them so i literally saved my lunch money for 2 months just to get the shoes i used to be so hungry but everytime i thought about buying food i thought about the shoes. But anyways family comes first. But anyways family comes first. But i get you onnthe fight stick argument.

You would think so, right?

I'm definitely getting 360 version, no question. What's the difference between HiDef on old gen or HiDef on new? I don't have a job, can barely afford rent as it is, i moved in November and i still don't have a washing machine. No way am i replacing or giving up on my 6 fully-functioning consoles, all of which i got for less than full price. (In fact two were gifts.)

Gamecube: £12 (came with 1 controller and Super Monkey Ball)
Wii: £45 (came with 1 controller & nunchuk)
Xbox: - (modded and gift from a hot guy i was shagging)
Xbox 360: £25 (came with 60GB hard drive and 1 or both controllers i can't remember)
GBA: - gift
DS: about £20 i forget the actual figure

PS3 day one purchase for me. Definitely PS4 Komplete Edition down the road when I upgrade consoles. For me personally it's not a money thing; it's that I have a big back log of games on my PS3 (50+) and I want to finish a good number of them before I move on. Being married and having a toddler doesn't leave a lot of extra time, but I do manage to get in a few hours of gaming three or four times a week after they go to bed, lol.

I think I'll end up getting a PS4 when it comes out, I've played a couple of next Gen games that were ported to PS3 and there's a noticeable big difference the two. I have to make the plunge inevitably, so I'll just do it then so i can play it in its full glory.

While I own a PS4 (yay, Dave and Buster's tickets!), and pre-ordered the PS4 edition, I do plan to *eventually* get the PS3 version from a collector's standpoint. It reminds me of when I was eight and had the original Mortal Kombat on both Super Nintendo and Game Gear grin I too am *very* curious to see a comparison of all of the consoles.
