The war with Shinnok is supposed to happen after MK9. Sonya was shown as head of the SF faction looking a lot older and the comics imply she's alive and well a good decade after it. Plus we saw her in the tower saluting. So Col. Blade is fine. She's just taking a nap.

I think sharefrock is a Sonya fan. At least I'm sure they've said they were at some point. They just want to see other characters get a chance to shine. Which I totally get. Why zeroing in Sonya alone all the time when there are other returning characters whose returns make a lot less sense, I don't get. But you don't need to respond hoping their favourite doesn't make the cut. This whole 'I hope your fav doesn't make it/yeah well I hope your fav doesn't make it' shit that's been going on here for the last few months needs to stop. It's not cute.

Once that happens, the children will either leave and go play, or they'll conclude that their sobbing and their hate will no longer have any effect (even though RIGHT NOW they don't, given that the roster has long been concluded; they seem to think the opposite, though).


In respect to your question and your fears, however (I realize I went straight sniper-mode and didn't contribute to your topic): I, too, was iffy on whether or not I was going to see Sonya, at one point. Not because of Cassie's inclusion, because I don't think NRS is comprised of a cage-full of monkeys who can't make two blond women who aren't copies of each other. But rather for story purposes, like you were thinking as well.

As of right now, however, I am confident she's in, and playable. There's just too much pointing toward that, enough that you really shouldn't worry. It started with the Faction pic, with her as the leader. And even if that WAS an Alternate for Cassie (which makes little sense), her blacked-out, coming-soon 2015 Halloween Costume, based on her Mortal Kombat X look, sealed the deal. How can you argue against that? And then there're the comics. She has a detailed new costume and a prominent role in the story with Kotal Khan, Cassie, and soon the Black & Red Dragon; that's a hell of a lot more than other MK9 returnees who are already confirmed playable.

I don't believe Sonya or any of the MK9 "icons" are going to play a major role in the final chapters of the Story (it seems it'll be all about Cassie and Co.), but there's no reason for you to worry about her actual in-game inclusion.

Easy man, those things kinda piss the shit out of me too, we have to be patient.

I did not care for Cassie inclusion to. I never thought Sonya could not make it in because of her. We also have Kitana and Sindel. Kung Lao and Liu Kang. All related so i could care less about that.

My main point is that i never saw her her in the tower.
Does anyone have that picture for me ?

After the comic i really got excited cause of her look.
But then they said that the comics take place long before this game.
So i got worried they might kill her and Johnny off.
