Seems like a LOT of people on this site don't play much with other people. This strikes me as really bizarre for a fighting game, but oh well. I guess that's what sites like TYM are for.
I love playing other people since that's pretty much what the genre was made for. There's nothing like playing another person and learning their patterns and getting in their head. It's a night and day experience from playing the CPU. It's why you get hype-ass crowds screaming their heads off at events like EVO.
I don't really understand the weird negative attitude towards "playing to win." When you get two similarly skilled players both "playing to win" that's where shit gets real for fighting games.

My problem with people who seem to be playing purely to win is that they rarely take risks, rarely do anything spectacular. They frequently use the same characters, and the same tactics, over and over again.
While I realize that my playstyle may not be ideal for competitive gaming, I just need to do something exciting when I play. Like successfully delivering a low blow as Johnny, sometimes end a fight that way. Not managing to land a low blow can be disappointing to me, sometimes.
I found myself losing the chance for a guarenteed win, because I needed to end the fight in a more entertaining manner than say, just uppercutting the opponent. Most tournament players wouldn't do that. People are free to play how they want, but when it comes to watching them play, it can be so boring.

About Me
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about.

Variety man. Simple
And Scorpion is my favorite character and I used him a lot, but my mains were Jade and Kabal for the longest time.

I can't do online either, and i rarely play against anyone else because no-one wants to join me anymore
I want as many characters as possible - i use all of them at some point or another, but there are those that i use more. The only one i ever avoided was MKA Shujinko because of the bizarre balancing issue that made him receive increased damage.
