It would be a waste if it wasn't her. Now the real question is, will she be playable?

Yeah we've been talking about it in a few other threads. I believe it is her. Not many other people it could be and the dialogue seems to fit. The fact she has such a prominent role in this trailer complete with close ups raised my eyebrows. None of the other people spotted in the trailer got that prominent treatment with close ups and everything.

She's not outright named but...I'm fanboying out so hard right now.

I think it's her, Boon kinda hinted we would see her in "some capacity" a while back. It think she's a NPC in story mode as her model doesn't look as good as the other playable characters.

Really none of the characters truly resemble the way they did in previous games. Kitana for instance looks nothing like she did in MK9, or the DA-A years, or MK4, etc. NRS is pretty bad with maintaining consistency with character looks especially in faces.

There really aren't many other people this could be. She's a villager, she's in a refugee camp, she's clearly not a villain. Would they really give so much screen time in this trailer to some random NPC? I have my doubts about that.

Definitely seems like Li Mei to me. All she was really associated with in DA was being from a village in Outword, and it just seemed odd that this woman was placed in the trailer to mention a village. They could have easily just had Raiden say "There's this amulet, and we gotta get it."

The only other person I can think of is Tanya, but she knows about magic and artifacts, so she would've been a bit sharper than this woman. Also, she would have been in yellow, so...

To people thinking her design's not that detailed next to the playable characters', remember Kabal in MK9 prior to his disfigurement? This scene could take place before she joins the action (in her own chapter, perhaps).

Anyway, if this is her, call me shallow, but I don't like that face as much as her previous one.

She seems to have a big role but I think her chances of DLC just skyrocketed.

It's important to keep in mind that the events of DA haven't happened in this timeline so Li Mei would be different. Her village hasn't been enslaved by the DA, she never fought in the fake tournament, never had her soul tainted by the Dragon King soldier, never been trained by Bo Rai Cho, etc.

This would be a very different Li Mei personality wise. Seems she occupies a spot in the story I saw coming way back; she's a refugee from the Outworld Civil War, kind of representing the common Outworlder. Shit is getting messed up in Outworld.

This is all assuming of course that this is Li Mei. We don't have definitive confirmation.

That's just because NRS couldn't render an oriental womans face for shit back then. Hence why her face looked so "fierce".

I knew she would be in. I called it! Anyways, I really hope she is playable. And if not, if she is cool enough in the story, she could very well be DLC.

It could be Li Mei, but I really doubt it. She's working with the Special Forces and has no physical characteristics that relate to Li Mei. I'm not sure what evidence there is to support this being Li Mei.
