My friend, you are looking too far ahead, this game hasn't even been released, we barely know a thing about it and your already thinking about the sequel?

Ive thought of this much since the initial hype for this game had passed. and I think through the series, the story device that came to pass the fastest was MK4.

I would really really if this game left off with Earthrealm living to fight another day after MK3, but just as the atmosphere seems to lose intensity and a sense of calm overcomes the remaining characters, maybe something can be said like "Its Finally Over"

Immagine the next game having a lengthy struggle through the invasion? something tells me the Deadly Alliance will not come to be this time around, so after or during the invasion, They could go their own direction with whatever plot devices they choose.

I just feel the invasion could make for a great plot for MKX/MK10 or whatever.

Heres hoping, but until then Im completely ready and waiting for this game to be my main focus. I jsut hope that they take the plot and really make somethign special of it now, planm more than one game in advance for what they want to do.

You're really thinking far ahead, and though that is something we've all been thinking about (how this MK will rewrite the story as we know it), thinking beyond MK9 at this point without even knowing MK9's details is hard to do. Heck, for all we know, Shinnok won't ever rise because Scorpion steals the Amulet from Quan Chi because Sub-Zero smacked Scorpion and told him to grow a set of balls instead of hunting every blue ninja he finds.
Anyway, moving this to the Future forum because you're talking about a game that won't be in development for a good while. Heck, for all we know, MK9 might flop and they never do make a sequel (though let's think positively).

This is how I'd see it


20 years after Armgageddon. It was stopped by raidens new champion.The kombatants have grown old and the world is changing Sektor has finished his army and some of the kombatants must come back. Raiden senses something else though sektor may not be the only enemy on the horizon.

As I would see it the kombatants would be back but older and wiser maybe with sons and daughters or apprentices to help them along some would die their apprentice taking their place. Scorpion could maybe come back because he found out one of his family members were still alive or maybe a daughter his wife hid away for maybe not bearing him a son.
