I wouldn't really think he's the type to have any offspring as he's more concerned with worldly and "outworldly" affairs. I would think that Nightwolf wouldn't be the only one from his tribe. Perhaps he was an influential member of his tribe, and with his demise a pupil of his decided to fill the role that Nightwolf has played among their people. It would be neat if this character were a female and she could represent the next generation of Mortal Kombat characters. Imagine, this character for a fatality could summon the spirit of Nightwolf to execute them with his Tomahawk?

I like the Old Shaman idea. And on having a different move set, what if he (maybe new character) was like a counter Quan Chi. There are a lot of interesting Native American legends they could tape into. The wendigo, skinwalkers, ext.

So I really don't wanna derail this conversation lol but I think their done with Nightwolf due to how offensive/ ridiculous the character is. When Killer Intinct came back they completely admitted that the first incarnation of thunder (their native american fighter) was racist as all hell. Now some people argue the new design is just as bad but they put a lot of effort (IMO) into making him less offensive.

MK9 was the 1-3 game. They were going to bring back everyone regardless of what the public thought. With the amount of characters they have and the new interesting characters their introducing (I know not everyone agrees here but I really like the new characters) Knightwolf seems completely unnecessary. Their also focusing the story/atmosphere of the game this time around. MKX seems like a fully realized version of MK2 before some of the more wacky elements were introduced, the game focused on Chinese mythology and american action movie shenanigans.

tl;dr IMO Knightwolf would be completely out of place in MKX and a tad on the offensive side anyways. We don't need Native American spirituality in a game that focuses on Chinese mysticism.

... And a separate post for Lore. I can't really remember deception that well but does Knightwolf's religion have any legitimacy in the world of MK? I remember him having a pure soul or something along those lines but I don't remember any type of Native American Heaven in MK? Or do they all just get bunched into one?

I don't ever recall seeing a single person finding Nightwolf offensive because he's a Native American.

Exactly, and I guess everyone forgot about T.Hawk from Street Fighter.
