A personal pick of mine. The movie was produced by WB, so copyrights wouldn't be an issue. This post will be a little long, of course.

A few intro ideas

Jack: Here's Johnny!!!
Johnny Cage: Yes! Here I am! Want me to sign your axe?
Jack: AAAARRRGGHHH!!!
Johnny: There's just no pleasing some fans!

Vs Cassie: Lloyd the bar man, standing behind Jack, says he hopes it's nothing serious.
Jack: Nah. Just some trouble with the old sperm bank. Nothing I can't handle.
Cassie, meanwhile, does nothing more than chew her bubble gum, and blows a bubble. Jack makes an angry grimace after that.

Vs Sonya: Jack chases Wendy and Danny with his axe, who manage to get away when Wendy hits him over the head with a baseball bat. He then notices Sonya, who mocks him for going after a terrified wife and child. Delbert Grady, standing behind Jack, berates him for not taking care of the business at hand (killing his family, of course), and that he must deal with this (killing Sonya) in the harshest possible way if he wants to redeem himself. Jack says there's nothing he looks forward to with greater pleasure, and Sonya mockingly asks Jack if he's gonna need "some old butler" for this.

Vs Mileena: she says "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!". Could be Ferra's line if Mileena didn't return.

Special moves
Intimate encounter: One of those "trap" moves where the opponent must attack Jack. If pulled off, Jack suddenly turns into the cackling old woman, who kisses the opponent and poisons them (cyborgs however are merely shocked and stunned, and take no damage). The real Jack appears from behind the opponent to swing his axe at the old woman to decapitate her, then thrusts his axe at the opponent.

Naughty girls: The Grady twins appear, say "come and play with us", light a few matches, and burn the ground. This can actually hurt Jack too, so he must get away. As the fire burns, the twins say "Forever. And ever. And ever".

The flood: the opponent gets flooded from behind by a river of blood, and gets hurt by the wave. Can be done at any distance, but if Jack stands too closely to his opponent, he'll get swept by the wave too.

X-ray: The man in the bear suit drops from above the opponent, knocking them down, headbutts them on the head, then he turns around and headbutts them on the crotch. He gets off the opponent, turns around and headbutts them on the crotch again, before running off on all four.

Fatality: Makes his speech about huffin' and puffin', then hacks away at the opponent's waist with his axe. The opponent's upper body falls off the lower half, then Jack approaches his opponent, smiling perversely, and swings his axe at their face, taking off a good chunk of flesh from one side of it (their face), then swings it again, taking off the other side, then finally chops their head in half. Delbert Grady appears to congratulate him, either by saying he's taken care of the business at hand, or that he corrected them (the opponent) and the injured guest, holding his glass of blood in his hand, says "Great Party, isn't it?"

Outro: A nude, or scantily clad woman, approaches Jack and they kiss. The camera is behind the woman the whole time, and right in the middle of the kiss, she turns into the rotting old hag. Jack, horrified, backs away as the old woman laughs maniacally and pursues him.

LOL!

Most random guest character idea ever. As a Constant Reader/Stephen King fan I do appreciate it, though. grin

My boyfriend is a die-hard Stephen King fan. He has a huge poster of "The shining" in our living room (f.m.l.), he has watched the film around 30 times, and his facebook cover photo is that thing:

I've been trying to get him into MK for years to no avail.
Your idea my friend, as stupid as I may find it, might be the only thing that could get him to play the game with megrin. Thx dude you just made my day lol!

If they were going to license a Stephen King character as a guest character for MK the only choice is Pennywise. Obviously.

Thanks. Is there any idea(s) in my post that you liked, in particular?

Just another intro idea for Jack vs Sonya; similar to the one above, but when Sonya appears, Delbert Grady says "When my wife tried to prevent me from doing my duty, I corrected her".

The Overlook Hotel's Goldroom needs to be a stage, complete with guests not even minding the fight, Delbert Grady who can be bumped into (making him drop his plate) and used as a projectile (along with the plate) and the "Midnight, the stars and you" song playing in the background. Though it could also work if the room was empty, with no noise in the background save for the snow storm outside, and Lloyd at the bar staring blankly, smiling.

Lmaaaaooooo

Not sure if serious...

I love The Shining but you know all of this is WAY too obscure for this game, right? grin

Homer Simpson portrayed him better. But that's just my opinion.

But its already been said that a guest is highly likely. In other words, very likely.

I approve if this thread. His fight intro should be;

"I ain't gonna hurt ya, I'm just going to bash your brains in. I'm going to bash them right the fuck in!! Heh heh heh!"

It would work for every character he fights.

We already had a horror movie character. I would not like another.

Hah. I really like the idea in theory, but the parts of Jack Torrance that I find really interesting are not elements that you can really represent in a fighting game. Jack is a complex, psychological character from a universe with an aesthetic far removed from something like MK. I feel like the fighting game experience might demean him a little bit.

OP thought about it with a lot of creativity and nuance, though, so props.

Neither was Freddy but hey! That didn't stop that goofiness from happening haha. Seriously at this point I'm expecting the guest character to be Mr Stay Puft.

If there should be any guest character, it should totally be Ash.

As for Jack, I have to pass. All he can really do is just swing an axe around and freeze to death. I can't see them giving him a fully fleshed out moveset, let alone variations.

I think guest characters will fuck up the game..
Who should we add next? Jesus ? Madonna? Marylin Manson ? Ben Afflect?? Kim jong-un ?

What about my suggested moveset for him?

For his outro, that creepy stare could also work.

@dellombie
Yes, there's no difference between Jack Torrance and real life celebrities as guest characters. Literally none. Maybe you're confusing Nicholson's real life personality with Torrance's?

But hey, since you brought up celebrities as guests and and all, how about...Steven Seagal? And an army of stuntmen for his gameplay that do everything for him, like walking, crouching, and jumping?
